Default Why some people DONT REMEMBER DREAMS?

greetings,

I've dreamed my whole life, and Iam in love with dreaming. Even though they are so weird. My question is, why are we so different from those around us who do not seem to dream at all? Is there a scientific reason, or theory, as to why people like us are filled with mysterious dreams every night, opposed to those people who do not remember anything when they awake?

Hi jesicKa,
It is better if you don't remember your dreams and have a trouble free night of sleep. You remember your dream when something unusual happens in your sleep. It is like when you are going to school or going to work. If you have a normal journey one day is same as the other, however if you have a fight on the way or see an accident it sticks in your memory. You remember your dreams because you might have health issues or you think and worry too much. Perhaps people upset you often or you have an angry nature. However it is also quite normal to remember ones dreams as they look after you while you sleep.
Cheers Wolfjk

Hi,
Dreams are full of gifts and messages if they are translated.
Based on the Stanfords University researches , each of the human being dreams at least 6 dreams , and if one was disturbed during dreaming or REM movement when dreaming he/she will have psychological disorders.
People dream but they forget them, perhaps they are tired or have no motives to understand their dreams , But for each person there have been times that inspite of tiredness and no motives there have been sharp unforgetable dreams that they remember. This is because of the soul that takes the messages.

I want to tell you a reason to know that 5 senses can't understand anything except by the soul,
Have you dreamt you were eating and drinking and had pleasure of that. He said yes. I said: have you dreamt laughing and crying, and strolling in the cities that haven't seen yet but you know the specialties. He said: yes dreamt very much. I said: Have you ever dreamt about your dead brother or father and know them like they are alive.
He said: yes too many times. I said: tell me which sense has received such things to see the dead and talking to them or crying and laughing. He said: I can’t say which one. Because the body is slept like a dead. I said: tell me when you wake up don’t you remember and report to the friends exactly, He said; yes and sometimes I see that before night in real life. I said; which sense keeps it to remember the dream after waking. He said; there is no way for sense. I said then you should know because senses are vein here that is the soul that God has put wisdom in it and it is a reason. He said; what I dream is like mirage one thinks it is water but when arrive at there is nothing. I said; how do you say it is like mirage and you ate sweets and pickles and were happy and sad he said; because what I dream when I arrive at it is nothing. I said: have you ever had sex in the dream and your hearts beat, have you ever had wet dream about a woman or man. You know him or don’t know He said many times said had you orgasm and when you woke up you were wet then this is not mirage.
He said: dreaming orgasm is just like the real life .I said this is my reason that soul. Knows everything although senses are dead and can’t see or hear of course you shouldn’t deny that soul in addition of the senses knowledge recognition in the waking life and after vanishing the senses has sex with them then it recognizes the things after going senses and now you understand that the itself is guiding the senses and is their governor and none of the senses can’t do anything without soul; if the soul goes ahead body wasn’t get back and if soul gets back the body won’t go ahead with the soul the happiness comes and with it the ache is received if a sense is damaged the soul is remained but if the soul is damaged senses can work properly.

Thanks for your replies! Varzandeh, I enjoyed that second paragraph very much. I've had orgasms in my sleep, and I always questioned if they were normal or not. I cant complain though ;-) Dreaming IS a gift.

Default Why is this...

Your message above has a good point but i think i might be able to help.

The people that remember dreams dont rush out of bed and think about what they're doing straight away. This type of person is usually laid back and wants to remember things.

But those who are not

They are the oppisite the paragraph above they are the hyper, every day happy person, its hard to explain its just who you are.

Also...

Take me for example
I forget and remember it depends on what type of mood you are in. If i want to remember a dream ill remember it, but if not i wont. I try hard to write all of my dreams down. Maybe you should try it too

Default Fabulous dreaming

I think in the West, dreaming is undervalued and not given as much attention as it deserves. You can learn a lot from dreaming and analysing your dreams. I think that only the dreamer can analyse their own, as no one else knows what is going on in their mind. Although, other peoples opinions can help you find your own answers. In Tibetan Buddhism and the Bonn tradition preceding it, there is a practice called dream yoga. Tibetan Lamas regularly use sleep for spiritual practice. They believe that the realm that you enter into during sleep is the closest that you get to experiencing the bardo of death. People who regularly experience lucid dreaming will not feel any shock and disorientation when they die.

I believe that if you are an avid dreamer, and in particular able to lucid dream, then you are really lucky and have a gift that you can utilise to your advantage. It is certainly not easy, and sometimes you wake up feeling like you have done ten rounds with Mike Tyson. Only when you get through all the layers and conditioning in your mind and find the peace that is hidden deep inside will you have dreamless, peaceful sleep. In the meantime you can use dreaming to your advantage.

Some dreams are meaningless, and are your own mind thoughts from throughout the day. If you learn to meditate and watch your thoughts, you can see how your mind would work during sleep as well, just throwing random thoughts together to give you some disjointed meaningless story. Some dreams are emotional in nature. They can alert you to how you are feeling about what is going on in your life. What you are fearful of or anxious about. Write these down when you remember them. They can help you work through your issues and release a lot of fear.

Lucid dreams are the best dreams, but are hard to achieve. They are not always easy, but there is so much potential to learn in these dreams if used correctly. If you love dreaming, try to learn how to lucid dream. If you are a regular, vivid dreamer you should not find this too difficult.

Everyone dreams but the people who remember dreams are light sleepers. If you wake up often during the night, you will remember your dreams more than someone who does not wake at all. I think avid dreamers are lucky and if anything, are more likely to question the reality of life. People who have many night time experiences generally have a more open mind but are also more likely to be classed as odd or weird by those that have none.

I think that people who do not dream are missing out on something quite special. During sleep you can consciously go in your mind, where you cannot during waking. Hollypop is right, write them all down as soon as you wake up, otherwise they are forgotten in an instant.

While the body may require sleep the same does not apply to the mind; obviously if the mind stopped functioning we would be sharing the same space with the angels. The mind needs something to keep it occupied so it searches for whatever emotional content has occurred over the recent space in time and it re-enacts this scenario usually in some symbolic way that frequently requires a little interpreting. Depending on the importance of the emotional content will determine the degree and frequency of remembering. Whenever we are at peace with ourselves and our world at large seldom do we recall dreams although we all have them. When we are exited or disturbed then its message usually impacts on our recall mechanism and so we more often remember them. I would suggest that whoever says they do not remember some of their dreams is in denial.
