Hi, Imogen. Hello everybody. I am new here, too. I just had eye surgery and can't stay on to read a lot just yet. I plan to go back and read as many previous posts as I can when the doctor allows it. I'm enjoying the site a lot so far. Seems like a lot of nice people are on here.

Hello Imogen and Dale (and everyone
I have been here a few days too and I am hoping to learn a lot of new things. I'm in Michigan and have 2 kids still home with me. I enjoy "studying" things and exploring the "why" and "how" of things...like psychic phenomena, evolution of the human mind and society in general, power of suggestion and positive thinking, etc, etc. Looking forward to getting to know you and surf around also when I have time. |

Howdy guys.
I'm also new here. I've been working at learning to read tarot cards for a couple of years, and kinda wandered in here to see if dream interpretation worked anything like it. Seems like there's some really sharp, open-minded people around. It's a nice place. Good luck with the surgery, Dale and grats on your new hopefully improved eyes! |

Hi all,
I stumbled onto this forum some years ago and stayed to read and study the many and varied dreams people post on here. I think it is far better than studying dreams in a controlled experiment. Unfortunatly some of the old posts were lost and some were omitted from the new board. (the present one) I also participate in other forums and rdeam events. Cheers Wolfjk

It would be incredibly interesting to get a look at each person's thought processes and methodology as they break a dream down. For myself, if it's something I connect with I get a very strong impression of the overall issue within reading the first couple of sentances, and then actually looking at the language of symbols seems to add more depth to it. I have actually a very small working knowledge of the library of dream symbols and sort of go mostly on intuition and what included images seem to represent within the context of that particular dream. (What symbols I know come largely from tarot, which draws on the same sort of subconscious language, though I have to admit that I don't know the meanings of the cards all that well either. I need to look almost all of them up as I go along. It's mostly intuition for me.) I tend to start big-picture, first with that general impression of what the issue is, then picking up a pattern, then working out the individual symbols for some final flourishes. How about the rest of you? Last edited by Hobgoblin : 10-13-2007 at 09:12 PM. Reason: typo |

Hey Hobgoblin, you are right there is so much diversity, maybe everyone has a little piece of the whole truth and it makes it easier for the dreamer to put it together. I think of dreams as an inner landscape. I think different aspects of ourselves can be a witch, a dragon, a kitten, a monster. Our mental or emotional feelings can be a desert or a waterfall, an alien planet, a rambling house or a big forest.
I also feel that our dream world is a place where we can all connect in the sea of conciousness. Its where we can visit those we miss or have those things said to our soul when we need healing. I have always loved dreams and trying to interpret them. I would like to learn more of the symbols, its very interesting. I dont have that much time though so I just feel drawn to some dreams and I hope my interpretation is close or at least gives the dreamer something to think about in getting to their own meaning as it is also a very personal thing and theres only so much you can pick up without really knowing someone. But I think the detachment from not knowing someone so well also makes it that bit easier to not read into things perhaps? Keep dreaming.. ![]()
