a co worker had a dream that her child was choking and she handed the child to her husband and her husband stopped the child from choking and then handed the child back to her. She wonders why she had this dream, or what it means, does anyone have any ideas?

Although it’s usually not a good idea to attempt an interpretation without knowing anything about the dreamer, one approach would be to view the dream as describing an inner psychological situation of your co-worker.

In this take on her dream, the child might represent some dawning consciousness of an issue etc. that she is having great difficulty in “swallowing” such that it could “kill” this new potential understanding within herself.

In this scenario, her husband would tend to represent such characteristics as being able to focus firmly on an issue, being assertive, being able to decide what one wants and going after it, using discrimination to sort through facts and come to a conclusion.

Something likely happened a day or two before the dream to cause it to comment on a situation, so thinking back to see what comes to mind should provide a clue about the problem being pictured.

A different approach would be to view the dream as commenting on a situation related to her outer child. Perhaps the dream is saying something along the lines that the instinctive knowledge that her husband possesses would be the best thing to trust regarding some current situation involving the child.

However as mentioned, without any background information these ideas might not fit the personal situation of the dreamer very well if at all, but I hope they will at least be of some help in finally sorting out the real meaning of the dream.
