my sister and i often have discussions on the topic of sensitivity to spirits or entities or ghosts, whatever u personally want to refer to them as. she says that she is not now but as a child was sensitive to them. i have never been sensitive to them but i have a keen sense of someone doing something that they aren't supposed to be doing. i can tell if the kids are even planning to be naughty. i can always tell when someone is lieing and for some ungodly reason i attract very strange and odd people. they will start discussions with me out of the blue, even if i try to avoid them they seem to search me out, my boss makes fun of me because she says all the crazies float to me. they all seem to stare at me for awhile as if i'm glowing and then they want to talk or touch me. i get a little unnerved by this sometimes but i try to just smile and be as pleasant and understanding as i can.

I think there is something to the child's story that she sees shadows. WHen I was in college, my roommate told me how she "saw" or more like, sensed people who were there. SHe didn't actually come nose to nose to it, but she knew the gender, approximate age, and sometimes what the were wearing. I thought she was making it up until some years later.

I moved into my house 11 years ago. More than once, I knew there was an elderly man here (possibly the previous owner who died a few years before?)
On one particular evening, my husband was out, my kids in bed, I was unloading the dishwasher. I felt something brush against my back. It felt like a person going by me. It made me yelp and jump. I didn't "see" him, but I knew there was an old man next to me laughing. I sensed he was the type with a sense of humor.
I've had other times when I would see him briefly out the corner of my eye. I could feel that he was checking on me.

Another time, I was walking out of my bedroom past my daughter's room, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw a 2 or 3 year old boy, sitting on my daughter's floor, playing. I quickly turn and look, but no one was physically there. I sensed an innocence.

A short time later, I had a rummage sale at my house. I woman came, and commented on how the house belonged to her late uncle. I knew she was telling the truth when she described the inside of the house accurately. Then she asked me if I had seen any ghosts!! I was startled and said, "no"
I wish now that I would see her again and find out more.

It has been a couple of years since I"ve sensed the old man. I wonder if he finally went to his final resting place?

it happened so many times,in our house, places we've went, at my work place. for example, I took my son to my work place, and it was a story that a little girl was killed a few years ago, in there. i took him several times, and one time, he just stopped, and asked me: "who is this girl, what is her name?" i told him to go to her and show her to me. he went towards her, and he said she just left. he didn't know about the story, so he had no way of coming up with it. he was 3 1/2 at the time. or in our house, for 4 months, this spirit was coming to "visit" us. every saturday at 11 pm, he would be up stairs. the first time i felt it. it was like a panic attack. out of nowhere. we were laying down , i was trying to put my son to sleep, and i was 6 mo pregnant. the light was dimmed, and quiet. i felt that panic, and thought my hormons are going crazy. my son next to me, he suddenly pulled his blanked over his head, saying that : "scary man is here!" i started saying a prayer in my mind, and after, i asked my son, where is this scary man. he pulled the blanket down, and showed with his finger, following on the ceiling this "thing". after a few weeks my son, would tell me, that the man is here, and he started playing with him. he was showing the scary man the zebra. he would lay on the floor, and play and show his toys to NOONE. there was noone there, but i felt his presence. after a few more weeks, i asked my son to ask the man;s name. i found out it was a firefighter, he had mustache, there was lots of fire and water, and "AW" (a painful sound), and his name was J or started with J. i went to the library to find out what was there before the house was built. i found that, the house was burned down, and a man died in it. and so on.

before then , i didn;t really believe in spirits and stuff like that existed, but now i believe. my son is 4 1/2 and still tells me, things like that. and i know he is not lying because i feel something too, at the time. i could write a book about this topic. hahaa the thing is that i told my son, not to be affraid, and ask what he sees, their names, and sometimes he doesn't say anything, just stares, and then tells me what's up. i hope he never looses this ability. i would like to know how to guide him, to still keep this channel open.

How strange... when I was little (maybe five or six) my twin bro and I used to see 'shadow people' walk past our door at night. The door was always cracked open just a bit. It let some light into the dark bedroom. They just seemed to walk back and forth like they were going somewhere and it had nothing to do with us, really. It used to scare us a little bit but I never felt threatened by those things. It stopped as I got older though. But my other wierd dreaming issues remain.

I never heard anyone else talk about such things, but lately I have started working on a dream related story, and am amazed at how many things that have happened to me in my life have been shared by other people. Lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis etc... Pretty wild.

hi, I also have been born with that gift of seeing things most do not-sometimes people are not comfortable with it, and say things because they are afraid that you can see things that exist that they cannot- it isn't an illusion, or a curse or from the devil just that you have better tv reception that most fellow humans! Just don't go casually about telling for like I said, some are not as comfortable with it as others- I learned that too- and I do belive it all happens for a reason, weather we like seeing it , or not. But you live with it and help others with it best you can!

I've had experience with these types of creatures. Three possibilities of what it could be, none of them are that pleasant.


Usually, shadow people are at times, Poltergeists. Masses of dark energies that humans create unknowingly through stress of a normal life. They're usually mindless, being controlled by the human that made it, since they're made on negative thoughts they can hurt members of any family if you know them. They are physical based. These are dangerous, as they never leave. There have been reports of deaths because of them.

At other times, it could be that the child that sees them only has enough spiritual power to grab a basic figure of a Ghost or a Spirit.

Or, it could be a demon. Most people depict demons as dark black masses of energy/vapor. If they're not doing anything currently, it's because they're usually blind to humans that are protected by God.

It's hard to tell what it is, until it does anything you can't tell.
Its mostly a possibility that it's nothing more than a lowly spirit that wanders the house. Nothing to really worry about, but if you experiment further and a Psy does go to the house. They can tell if it's a mindless piece of energy out to kill.
