I remember 80% of my dreams, and I dream whole stories, I have full memories in my dreams of whatever person I am in that dream. I remember dreams I had as a child even, I am trying to learn to use my dreams as guides. I've had people say I've come to their door and disappear in front of them, while I was at home sleeping. I die in my dreams sometimes too, and I look at my own body, and I'm not afraid. The other night I had the same dream as my friend whole stayed the night. I love my dreams, especially the lucid ones, they give me the most peace.

Feels good to tell all of this to people who understand, thank you.

I have M.E. and suffer with disturbed sleep. Sometimes I sleep really heavily and have very vivid dreams - I even know that I am dreaming and can choose to carry on with the dream or go back to sleep, but can rarely wake myself up. Sometimes when I do wake physical symptoms I have dreamt about are real - such as aching limbs etc. I have even had such vivid dreams that I can feel that I am having a baby - I know exactly what it feels like though I have never had one or even been pregnant!

Default What's so odd about it?

I remember my dreams every night. Most of the time, I remember having numerous dreams a night, and I remember them individually. They are always realistic, always vivid, and almost always epic. Like a movie playing that I'm watching and a part of.

I don't see what is so abnormal about this. It's been like this since I was a child. I still remember dreams I had as a child. It's not wierd, and I don't think that diet or anything has anything to do with it. It's just different for everyone. Some people don't remember their dreams, others do. That's just the way of it.

Default possible sleep disorder

Vivid dreams can be caused by numerous things but I have experience with one in particular. Falling asleep quickly and dropping immediately into vivid dreams which last the whole night. Possibly having some apnea or feeling paralyzed for a few moments upon waking. Feeling physically weak while in the grip of strong emotion like laughter. These are some of the possible symptoms of a sleep disorder called Narcolepsy. Basically, your sleep rhythm is off. A normal sleep cycle has a certain amount of REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep and NREM (Non Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. REM is when you have your vivid dreams and NREM is when your body gets the best rest and healing done. With Narcolepsy, you get almost no NREM sleep. That means lots of vivid dreams, possibly waking up several times in the night (though not necessarily aware of it) and not enough deep, quality sleep so you start operating under more and more of a sleep deficit. I don't mind the vivid dreams one bit, but falling asleep uncontrollably during the day because I'm flat exhausted all the time... that one stinks. I don't know that your sudden onset (described as ok a few weeks ago) fits the profile for narcolepsy, but you'd have to go to a neurologist, answer questions and probably go for sleep testing to find out. Good luck adjusting to this (whatever it is)!

Default I've had that too...

But not quite as often. Mostly for me it's I'll have a dream and it will seem like months, even years go by but in reality it has only been a few minutes. It may be that you have a really good imagination that likes to pay attention to details and is very focused, but I dunno. That's just a guess.
