Recurring dream @ old house/mail

I have had a recurring dream for several years now.
The dream location is a house my husband and I lived in before we moved to a new location 20 years ago.
The dreams take place in several different rooms, usually living room, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom. The dreams include different people, sometimes family members, sometimes visitors, sometimes strangers. The feeling is neutral but never anything negative.
The one constant in every dream is the mailbox. In every dream, no matter who is there or what is happening, I go to the front door, step out on the porch and look at the mailbox. It is always full to overflowing. Sometimes there is mail piled up on the porch. These are letters, bills, magazines, newspapers, packages. Just lots and lots of mail.
Many years ago, before my mother passed away, we always said that whoever died first, would come back and leave a message. I always looked for a message from her, but it never came. I wondered if perhaps that this was her way of sending me a message, however I would have thought that when I came to that conclusion, the dream would stop. It hasn't.
Does anyone have any idea of what this might be about?

I am not any kind of an expert about dreams or psychology but I too have had reoccurring dreams about a house I grew up in. I believe that your dream may have something to do with a subconscious wish to return to a happier time in your life. I also believe that the filled mailbox may have to do with all the pressures and chaos that may be overflowing in your life and/or marriage. The fact that you keep looking for a message from your mother may mean that you are seeking her guidance and/or approval. It could also mean you are looking for hope. Take it for what it's worth. As I said, I'm no expert.

I believe this dream has to do with wanting to return to your identity and your roots (old house) and that there are plenty of messages from your Creator, God, that over the years may have been missed but are still there waiting to be discovered by you. Messages that hold truth, validity, and wholeness as to who you are (identity) in His eyes. The bible holds these answers and I encourage you to seek Him (your Creator) out for them.
