Recurring dream 15 years now

Hi my name is Doug, but in my dream it is Dug...don't ask how I know this I just do...I have been having a recurring dream now for about 15 years...some odd things about the dream is there was no sound at all in the dream untill about 5 months ago when a new part was added to it...still no sound up until the new part...it takes starts out with me showing a muscular clean shaven, head is shaven also...wearing nothing but a red kilt...and I am fighting these people? I assume I can't see what I am fighting because everytime the veiwing perspective changes my opponent<S> are obscured by a blur...the dream lasts for what seems like hours <when I wake up and look at the clock it is usually at 4 hours since I went to sleep> with me fighting my way through the building I get the feeling it is a palace of some sort...I keep going up and through doors searching for something/someone don't know what..the whole time this is going on I get the feeling there is someone behind me though I never look back. I finally reach the final room. I can see a balcony behind the final opponent...most of the fights were very fast...but this one I seem to really dislike them because I very slowly and methodicaly beat on them and finish by breaking their neck...the final opponent is human though I can not see the face...all of the other fights I had a feeling that they could hurt me but not the person following me...this ifnal one though I hd no fear of for myself but I "knew" it could easily "destroy" not sure why destroy fits and not kill but it does...I then turn walk out on the balcony and the view is breathtaking or it would normally be...it appears to be an ancient oriental city in ruins...smoke is coming from all over the place about half the buildings are totally destroyed the rest are on fire...bodies are lying in the street...then it shows me standing at the rail of the balcony looking out over the city,,and i feel...NOTHING, no emotion...up until 5 months ago this is where the dream ended...then one night just as it gets to the normal spot where it ends...another strange thing is I know this is a dream when it happening so I am waiting to wake up a this point...I hear footsteps behind me...14 years no sound, ends in same spot then footsteps after the dream should have ended...all of this dream until this point has been from a third person point of view...I hear the footsteps and I zoom into a first person point of view..I slowly turn around, at this point I feel the need to describe the balcony a bit as it come out of the "palace" there are 3 steps down to the balcony proper> I see womans feet as my gaze travels upward I see legs a red silk kimon but the face is in the shadow of the transition from inside to out...I feel calm complete calm...turn back around before her face comes into view...a womans hand touches me lightly on my right forearm...I turn slightly reach back with my right arm pull her into me chest so that she is facing the city standing slightly in front of me and I say "this I give to you"...then it goes back to third person with us standing on the balcony (I can see her face and the first time this happened and every time since there was no surprise...somehow I knew it would be her my dreamselve did that is) and slowly pulls back till we are nothing but a speck then I wake up. have had it five times like this...I usually have this dream once a month...always have since the first time 15 years ago. A large part of whats bugging me is I know the woman...have known her for about 4 years...though we both did live in the same small city 15 years ago. ordinarelly even that wouldn't bother me but she confessed yesterday that she has been having dreams about me though she won't eleborate...we are both very private individuals...sure we have a persona that we show the public but we keep our feelings to ourselves...except once we started talking to each other more than just in passing we both immediately opened up to each other...this is driving me crazy.

Hi Doug,
I am familiar with reoccurring dreams. There are some hints in your post regarding the cause of your dreams.

The above quote indicate that something happens in your sleep that makes you wake up after four hours.

a womans hand touches me lightly on my right forearm...I turn slightly reach back with my right arm pull her into me chest so that she is facing the city standing slightly in front of me and I say "this I give to you"

This quote indicates that you have something wrong with your right fore arm! I bet you feel some numbness or tingling in your arm when you wake up. Perhaps you do a special job or do too much excersises with your right arm. You may have carpal tunnel problem.
