[This was the follow on from Dream Two]:-
Yet a side aisle had a single door that swung invitingly open... . Beyond lay a passage cut into the rock leading to a winding staircase. The walls were white-painted to enhance the torchlight. I heard voices as I ascended. At the top a door stood ajar, and I slipped through. I found myself in an impressive room. The dome had a blue and gold mosaic map of the heavens. It glittered in sunlight streaming through a window. Instruments and models were everywhere. It was the Royal Observatory. Two men stood with their backs to me at a large table. On it were several rolls of parchment, which they were discussing animatedly. The left man was short and squat with a wooden brush or pen [stylus] behind each ear. Apart from white tufts at the side of his head, he was bald as an egg. His name was Evander, and he wore a simple white robe and sandals. Evander’s voice was reedy and slightly petulant. Astronomer, architect, scientist, philosopher, poet… His talents were endless, and he never let people forget it! The right man, by contrast, was lean and angular, and towered over him. He wore a rich dark blue robe with gold trim. A gold circlet crowned his fair hair. His voice was jovial and light-hearted. It was the King!! I swear I made no noise, yet both turned. Evander’s dark, inquisitive eyes blinked under bushy white brows. He reminded me of an owl. But His Majesty had the most piercing cool blue gaze. Set in noble, aquiline features that made me think of an eagle. I bowed deeply. The King just airily waved a hand. “Ah, Wa-naya. I’d value your opinion on this… .” “Majesty?” The diagrams before me were in black ink, heavily-amended in red. And covered in bewildering equations and formulas. What I saw was: A square chamber at the end of the pillared Hall. In the centre was a cylindrical ‘cage’ whose dome rose through the floor of the pyramid above. A crystal with many prisms, apparently. Which was set in a large metal ring. This was linked, like a cross, by four metal tubes, to a bigger ring encircling it. This occupied the square platform I’d seen. At the 'T-junctions' of the outer ring and tubes were the obelisks. Inside each obelisk was a pillar: a metal 'ankh' on top of a metal 'djed'. From the base of each obelisk a long metal rod passed down through the building into the hill underneath. Each ended in a large, deep reservoir in a massive cave. Evander explained ''The Device’s'' function simply to the King and I: It seemed the obelisks channelled "‘Earth energies" from inside the planet, arcing them into the pyramid, which concentrated them into “one vast energy column” shot into space from the apex. But the process could work in reverse, with '‘cosmic energy’' beaming into the pyramid, and arcing out to the obelisks. Which act like lightning rods. Great electromagnetic winds exploded like ball lightning, creating a sudden Earth/sky connection. This is a became a vortex or bubble. Via which another time, place or dimension could be accessed. Got it?
