This dream starts off with me and a large number of coworkers at a bar/restaurant at night, it's on a relatively busy street with other bars, shops, restaurants, etc. The place we are at is sort of diner like and people are eating things like sandwiches, burgers and fries.
There is some whispering and 2 guys I know but am not close with get up to leave. I ask a girl I am pretty close with where they are going she says "You'll see." The next thing I know I am outside and I see the 2 lying on the curb as if they were dead. I am upset but noone else is. At this point it is explained to me that this is all part of "it." This is where it gets weird! The same girl from before explains to me that this is something people do for fun or and to get insight. Here is the process: You chug 7-UP from one of those old timey glass bottles. Then you try to kill yourself (the preferred method is to throw yourself off of something) but people have been known to use other methods. My 2 mail coworkers stepped into traffic. At this point you are sort of dead but not really. To the outside world it appears you are, but your mind isn't you are able to remember things from when you are a small child or might have forgotten. This state lasts for like 5 - 20 minutes dependant on the person how fast you drank the 7-Up, etc. Then you wake up, most of the time unharmed perhaps a scratch or bump but usually 100%. Then almost everyone goes on to have the happiest, funnest, whatever time of their lives for the next however long until it wears off. Usually several hours. So my friend at work gets through explaining and I am flabbergasted at the idea that you are supposed to willingly try and kill yourself. Apparently people do it all the time and love it. She has done it, almost every one of my coworkers says they have done it at least once in their life. I call up 2 different friends and one has done it and the other hasn't, but knows people who have and they liked it. Anyway, the plan is a group of my coworkers are planning on doing it that night including the girl I am friends with. They suggest I try it. So I freak and can't imagine actually trying to "kill" myself. I ask everybody if you can actually die and they say yes, but only if it's abused just like with anything else, but the chances are small. I go up to the roof with some people and my friend says to just watch. She chugs her 7-UP, takes a deep breath, sits on the edge of the roof and pushes off. I am hysterical and run down, I think she's dead I'm hugging her and trying to wake her. Another girl comforts me for a while, and then my friend starts to move and gets up. She's fine, she hugs me and asks why I was worried. And then she tells me "you appreciate everything so much more when you wake up". She and the other people are super happy and giddy and they all seem to be having an excellent time. I drink the 7-UP and think about it but I can't get up my nerve it's too scary to think about it. One girl tries to push me but luckily she doesn't. Everyone freaks out on her cause that can make people die. That's the end of the dream......What in the world does it mean? Any ideas will be appreciated. Last edited by stephsteph83 : 07-03-2007 at 03:55 PM. |
