I dreamed that I met a girl I knew in high school in a clothing store. She was working there. I talked to her and it turned out that we lived in the same apartment complex and we made plans to meet when she got off work.
I continue browsing the store and I met an old woman and we began talking. Her husband came up and he invited me to their house. They lived in a mansion and were very rich. I went with them (and, thus, blew off the girl, hah hah!) to their mansion and met their family. They had two daughters, both of whom were about my age (24), and a son who was probably a little younger than I was. I asked these people where they were from and they said "Brooklyn." I have a friend in real life from there, and I told them about him. Later, I join the husband out on his porch and we sat in rocking chairs. I listened to this man go on and on about how great his family heritage was. He showed me his hand and said, "Its the [family name] genetics that allow us to play golf so well." Then, I woke up. Does anybody have any ideas what all the symbolism means? I have no idea where the golf comment came from as I don't really like the game. Any ideas? |

On the first cursory reading of your dream it seems to suggest that love in your life is measured by the material things you like rather than on the emotional level. You are probably a materialistic person with your feet fixed solidly on the ground. You may not be swayed easily by emotion and might not fully comprehend what this feels like.

Well, I am a mathematician. I try to stay firmly on the ground. However, I am a very passionate and emotional person. I try to control it, but sometimes I fail.
Thanks for the reply! |

Thank you for the feedback. Upon rereading your dreamscape (and presumably being influenced by what you subsequently said) the only other feature that seems implicit in the dreamscape is the attitide best described as 'I've been there, seen it, worn the teeshirt'.
It almost sounds as if you are studying something of which you already have knowledge or that in some sense you are covering old ground. You certainly sound a tad frustrated as if you have unwittingly sacrificed one interest in pursuit of another but regret having done so. Having revealed that you are a mathematician it does seem that this discipline is interfering with your emotional life which possesses its own intelligence that differs to that of logic and it almost sounds as if you are afraid to appear vulnerable. From the emotional content entailed in most dreamscapes it becomes reasonably easy to decipher meaning but in your dreamscape you appear to be hiding more than you are revealing; could this then be the mathematician you seek refuge behind in sensitive social situations? There is certainly a conflict to your life. Your dream may be suggesting that you have got to get back to being human (or normal) again and hence its feature of frustration.
