This is a shorty. I have a reoccurring dream that has been happening for as long as I can remember. It always takes place in a dark house..sometimes I recognize the house, most of the time I don't. Whenever I try to turn the lights on in the house, none of them work. It is such a regular dream, that I am able to start realizing that I'm dreaming. If I try 3 light switches in my dream and no lights come on, I can usually figure out its a dream. I've been trying to figure this out for years, any thoughts would be incredibly helpful

Hi,
if you took the shower and you washed with water means you will achieve a wish. Light means science and guidance and dark means misleading. Each time you try to understand where have you come to this world and why and where are you going after this world , you can't find the true answer. Good luck.

Usually a house in a dream would tend to symbolize the dreamer’s overall personality with the rooms representing various aspects of the person’s character etc. Here, everything is “in the dark”, that is, “unconsious”. Perhaps there are some painful events in your background that lead to your not wanting to look at some parts of your makeup, or perhaps in general you prefer to keep too many aspects of your personality hidden because you may be afraid of their “darker” nature.
However, only you can decide on what the personal message of the dream is, and one reliable method is to take a few quiet moments and jot down the memories, thoughts and feelings that come to mind about the images in perhaps a recent example of this dream. Then record what stands out from a day or two before the dream or possibly some situation or problem that you’ve been consciously struggling with for awhile. Then try sifting through the memories etc. that emerge to pick out certain types of interconnected themes and situations. Doing this should provide a clue about what the dream’s message is although it might be a hard technique to get used to at first. One important thing is not to try to “think up” something but just let spontaneous memories and thoughts appear. If a few ideas seem to click from trying this method, the dreams should stop or at least change dramatically in how often they happen or in some other way. If they don’t change much, you’d have to try to gather more spontaneous ideas from a later dream to help finally loosen up the flow of inner material that should help clarify what has to be changed in how you perhaps tend to be stuck in a pattern of a certain approach to life in general. Good luck in having these repetitive dreams finally come to an end. |

Like Athanor, I'm wondering: do you feel that events in your life are leaving you 'in the dark'?
Cheers, Jon.
