After watching a certain movie (Ghost and the Darkness) as a child I began to get nightmares of being chased by lions every night for many years. However I think the dreams were more than just mere nightmares with a fear of lions (though I do fear lions as a result of the film). I remember one particular recurring dream. There is an football oval across the road from my house and I would always awake in the middle of it. I would feel alone, secluded and most of all, vulnerable. I would always look behind me, feeling eyes on my back, and would see dry yellow grass, tall reeds of it at the far edge of the oval. Then a massive lion would come out of it and run for me. I would fear like hell and by God run like hell. I would always make it into my house, close the door, as the lion came to the veranda. This dream happened so many times I can't even count them.
Other dreams were that I'd awake in my house and walk out the door to see my brother over the oval. I would see a lion on the far edge, emerging from yellow grass, and running for him. As he had his back to it he didn't know. I would shout to him to run, screaming and all, but never he would listen and the lion would pounce on his back... Other dreams I would awake in a secluded, abandoned village-sized town somewhere deep in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the bush (forest). I am sometimes with people and there'd be two lions stalking the place, eating people on sight. We'd always be running and hiding, sometimes I would try to play dead if suddenly caught by a lion only to find and even feel its teeth sinking into my backside. Ouch! One particular dream, one of the most scariest of them all, was that I was on a playground set or something, which was a bunch of tall ramps, scaffolds, and slides, running for maybe 30 metres long, 1.5 metres wide. I would stand some metres away from the playground, looking at a statue. All of a sudden the statue began to colour and pretty soon was turning into a lion. I immediately knew what was happening and ran like hell to the playground set. I remember not being able to move very fast, like a very slow jog, and so I had to slowly move toward the playground and get on the ramps to safety. The lion morphed and looked at me, and it came for me, able to move in real life speed. I made it to the playground set and could suddenly move normally again, and just in the nick of time as the lion made it to the bottom of the ramp just as I got up. I would run to the other side, the lion chasing me, and I would climb through a tube and lock the other side. I could see the lion snarling at me and instead jumped off the playground and came to the otherside of the ramps and came for me that way. Smart little bugger! I would quickly climb through the tube to the other side only to have the lion jump from the side it was from and come to me from the other. No matter what I tried to do, the lion would meet from that exit, and so I had no place to run to. I was stuck! I think I would need to think and make myself wake up to get out of the dream. One last dream, out of potentially nearly a hundred of them, was me and my brother were going through the bush, which is harsh and dry (think Australian), to go for a swim in the dam. Everything would be normal when a lion would jump out and kill my brother, then another one would jump out and I'd run, finding a secluded red brick building, like a school, and hiding in a room. I remember being in a room, hiding behind a desk, and as the light would be shining through the room through wall size windows, shadows of the lions would stretch to the wall behind me. Mainly these dreams are that I am secluded somewhere, alone, afraid... Locations are usually abandoned small towns, fewer than 20 to even 100 houses -usually surrounded by arid, dry trees running for countless miles. sometimes there'd be a train nearby. Anyway other locations are schools, once again secluded from busy places, and I'd have to run through the labyrnth of rooms and hide. I remember one dream in particular being at a school I used to go to (from prep to grade 6) and there would be lions there tearing everyone apart - kids, teachers and all! I would run out the gates, not looking back, when I would realise my little sister was still in there. Though I knew at this stage that I was dreaming and could keep running and it wouldnt matter if I left my sister to die (as it was a dream) I for some odd reason decided to run back and grab her, all the while conscious as to what I was doing. For the whole 400 metre run home, I had my sister slung over my shoulder, running like hell, and would get away. Always the running seemed time consuming and slow. One thing to emphasis is that I'm always running. One simply doesn't stand up to a lion or a whole pack of them, and the lions have massive maines and are huge. One time though, just last year, though I dont get nightmares or fear them if I do anymore (and the lions rarely appear though they still do), I threw myself at a lion in order to save another little sister, and turned into a ghost, watching and guiding people to safety as I could levitate! Any ideas as to what these dreams may mean, any symbols? Thanks. |

Hi,
Dreams of immatured children refers to their parents , girls to their mother so, the dream of shildhood has been about your mother if you are female. If one dreamt was fighting a lion means he will fight and argue with an enemy or rival and the one who was the winner ( lion or him) will overcome. If dreamt a lion was chasing him but couldn't reach him means he will have a fear by the governor. If dreamt he was running away a lion and the lion didn't chase him means he will be safe from a fear.If dreamt he was eating some lion meat means the governor will gift him something. If dreamt he had sex with a lion means he will have abjectness from the governor. If dreamt the governor gave him a lion means he will be a governor too.If dreamt he was riding a lion means he will receive some dignity and rank.If dreamt he was milking a she-lion means he will be a secretary. If a woman dreamt she was milking a lion means she will be a nana for the governor's baby.If dreamt he was carrying a lion on his back means he will overcome the enemy. If dreamt the lion bit him means the enemy will hurt him.If dreamt he hugged a lion means he will be a player for the governor. If dreamt he was eating food with a lion means he will receive money from a governor.Lion may also mean :1- a king 2- a brave man 3- a powerful enemy.

Quite interesting, and no I am male.
As with the lion experiences, I've been chased, I've been bitten, I've fought it and I am sure I have eaten with one and talked/ made friends with one, as it tried to explain to me the problems and unfairness given to it by other people. But I am not too sure if the interpretation overall fits the dreams. Always there was fear, everyone afraid and the lions were bent-dead on killing. The lions were bloody massive things as well. I also remember a dream where a lion was drinking the milk from a horse's (?) teets. That is, before it decided to go all bad and try and kill us. |
