Question Who Are The Five Angels? [1996 and 1998]

A domed, cube-shaped room, with a dark green marble column in each corner. And double doors (bronze or dark wood) in the centre of each wall. The floor was dark blue marble.

Below the dome was a metal ring (brass?) set into the floor. It encircled a ‘Compass Rose’ , which had alternate black and white points. In the middle of the ‘Rose’ was a white marble fountain. It resembled a four-tiered wedding cake.

Yet, instead of the bride and groom on the top tier, were four gold Angels. Each Angel faced a door, and held (with both hands) a Shield bearing a Symbol:

North Angel: An encircled Eye with horizontally-spread wings, and a ‘fanned’ tail. The Circle had a Horned Helmet.

[Horned Circle = Taurus; on a Cross = Planet Mercury. The Winged Disc was an ancient Solar Symbol from Egypt and the Middle East.]

South Angel: An encircled Eye in the middle of a flaming vertical Sword. [Adam and Eve were cast out of Eden by an Angel wielding such a weapon.]

East Angel: An encircled Eye with eight points like a ‘sunburst’. [This Angel was called the “Sun of God”.]

West Angel: An encircled Eye flanked by two Crescent Moons and pierced by a two-headed Arrow.

[Resembled the Symbol of Pisces but with a disc in the middle. But Twinned Symbols- Gemini? Arrows - Sagittarius?]

The four Angels surrounded a fifth standing on a globe. It gazed skyward. And held aloft a Sword to the central hole in the dome (the only light source.) Shield of

Centre Angel: An encircled Eye in a Triangle. [The Solar-Eye Pyramid - a Masonic Symbol for Heaven, The Holy Trinity, and God.]

The clue to the Angel's identities are above. But which ones were they? Any suggestions would be welcome. Regards, Jon.

Well I know the Arch Angel Michael bears the sword. South
Lucifer is the "sun Burst" or also use to be the "light of the world" East
Raphael could be the North - responsible for healing

Other than that, the other Angel I could think of is Jesus.

Smile Dream: Who Are The Five Angels? [Some Clues.]

Well I know the Archangel Michael bears the sword. South

Two angels have swords. The South one is 'flaming'. There are three candidates for the expulsion of Adam and Eve: Jophiel, Uriel and Gabriel.

Lucifer is the "sun Burst" or also use to be the "light of the world". East
Raphael could be the North - responsible for healing.

Clue: Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are each represented by an Angel. Mercury has two. The Sun has two or three. The Moon has two, I think.

Clue: Each Zodiac Sign has an Angel.

Other than that, the other Angel I could think of is Jesus.[/quote]

The following site has an A - Z of Angels, and this may help. Good luck!

Angels, Archangels, Guardian Angels, Holy Angels, What are angels? . . .

Regards, Jon

Jon, you never cease to amaze me. It seems to me as if you are describing a painting of some religious organisation (of which I have no knowledge). As a lay-person, if asked to explain the possible meaning of this (dream?) it would be something like the following:

The building or establishment is the 'institution' that has decidedly philosophical or religious overtones. It sounds like an exclusive sect of some antiquity. The centre piece is its constitution 'written in stone' and the doors would obviously represent entry possibly to different hierarchies within the organisation; almost like that of academe.

The compass (which would date the sect) represents all points of the globe with its nights and days (or good and evil) represented in the monocolourings of black and white. The tiers of the centre piece again represent the hierarchy within. The angels with shields are the protectors from alien outside influences or the threshold guardians and may also represent degrees within the hierarchy. The 'eyes' in each symbol is the omnipotence and omnipresence of the 'creator' and the other symbols connected to the eyes are the stages or degrees to which one must pass to arrive at the faculty of the organisation; probably to become a priest.

The wings, fantail, and horned helmet of the North Angel is the caring and protective aspect of the constitution. The flamming vertical sword of the South Angel (the opposite of entry) is the baptism of fire or one's commitment. The sunburst of the East Angel is the glory that lies before one. The crescent moons and the two-headed arrow of the West Angel represents the temptations to which one will encounter. Each of those angels are protecting the Archangel and are the stages to which neophytes need to passed through to reach the archangel level which is probably the equivalent of a PhD in theology. Note how the opposing compass bearings represent opposites. The triangle may represent something like the three graces of faith, hope, and charity. As my interest in religion is almost (but not quite) negligible and my knowledge limited, I am, consequently unable to name the angels.

The question I would pose is; are you going through a religious conversion?

Thank you Jennings, for your thought-provoking posting. There is, I feel, Masonic symbolism in this dream:

The All-Seeing Eye [of God] (inner vision, higher knowledge, insight into occult mysteries); The Crescent Moon; The Solar-Eye Pyramid; The Pillars; The Sunburst; The Black & White, etc.

In light of the dream, I've being doing some research on the Web. And found that there are three degrees of Craft or Blue Lodge Freemasonry. But, in the whole Masonic structure, there are 32 degrees. Here are some I feel might pertain to the Angels:-

15° Knight of the East or Sword: devotion to duty and truth.

17° Knights of the East and West: to learn from the errors of the past.

19° Grand Pontiff: spiritual unity of all who believe in God and hope for immortality. Concerned mainly with the conflict between light and darkness, good and evil, God and Satan.

28° Knight of the Sun: symbolism of the tools used in architecture- that by building moral character among its adherents, Freemasonry may advance man's determined quest for the achievement of unity and good will throughout the world.

The Arrows can represent war, the Sun. direction, etc.

The question I would pose is; are you going through a religious conversion?

Now that is a question I'm not sure about....

Regards, Jon.

Lightbulb More Thoughts on This Dream

The Uadjet Eye of Horus

Left Eye: Feminine; Moon [Thoth (Tehuti)]; Magic & Intuition
Right Eye: Masculine; Sun [Ra]; Maths & Reason.

Horned Disc: North

Alchemy: the element Bismuth
Astrology: Taurus, The Bull [an Earth sign]. Balancer of the influences of Aries [here East and Uriel]. Taurus is the Polar opposite of Scorpio [South].
Deities: With the wings and tail, Shamash, the Assyrian Sun God.
Pagan: 'God' symbol.

Unhorned Disc, with wings and tail = Horus, as transformed by Thoth.

An encircled Eye in the middle of a flaming vertical Sword: South

The Archangel Michael used such a weapon to vanquish evil forces.

An encircled Eye with points like a ‘sunburst’: East

* The 'Sunburst' was used as a protective talisman by voyages, akin to the ‘Compass Rose’. Thus, the symbol is known as 'The Traveller'.

* Also the symbol of royal houses, including Macedonia [Phillip II, Alexander, etc], and the Yorkist Dynasty of England. Not to mention Louis XIV of France.

An encircled Eye flanked by two Crescent Moons and pierced by a two-headed Arrow: West

Pagan: The Goddess symbol:-

* Horus Moon Eye in Disc = Celtic 'Triple Moon Crown', with arrow as headband. Could represent the Goddesses of the Moon and Hunt Diana [Roman] and Artemis [Greek].

As Gabriel [symbol = Moon] heralded important births [Jesus, John The Baptist, etc], it has been suggested that this was the only female Archangel.

* Horus Sun Eye in Disc = Celtic 'Double Moon Crown' [with same band].

Alchemy: Disc & Left Moon: the element Platinum.

Hey this dream is quite cool, and it's related to astrology a lot. Here is my take on this dream:

In astrology ( and also kabbalah ) it's quite different from other replies above ( sorry for the difference ):

There are four important fixed stars: Aldebaran; Antares; Fomalhaut and Regulus:

Aldebaran represents the Watcher of the East ( Tasoheter ) which is Michael. In Astrology, Sun is best symbolic model of Michael
Antares represents the Watcher of the West ( Satevis ) which is Oriel. In Astrology, Earth/Gaia/Terra is best symbolic model of Oriel
Fomalhaut represents the Watcher of the South ( Hastorang ) which is Gabriel. In Astrology, Moon is best symbolic model of Gabriel.
Regulus represents the Watcher of the North ( Venant ) which is Raphael. In Astrology, Mercury is best symbolic model of Raphael.

Aldebaran ( Michael's Star ) is at 9Gemeni47
Antares ( Oriel's Star ) is at 9Sagittaurius46
Fomalhaut ( Gabriel's Star ) is at 3Pisces52
Regulus ( Raphael's Star ) is at 29Leo50

There is a branch in astrology called angelic astrology, which shows in the zodiac there are 72 angels and 72 devils which are the primary guardians of Earth:
Governing Angels

The centre angel is represented by the Holy Trinity, in astrology there is a symbolic trinity by the three planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
Uranus ( Raziel Angel ); Neptune ( Metatron Angel); Pluto ( Still unknown today, probaly Sandalphon [Ilaniel] Angel ).

I can explain them more if you wish.

In ezoteric astrology, there is a symbolic corespondence between The Holy Trinity and the three planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

Uranus represent symbolicaly the Holy Spirit.
Neptune represent symbolicaly the Son.
Pluto represent symbolicaly the Father.

Just remember it's symbolic, we don't want people to give errors in some interpretations that could occur.

Thanks for those angelic-astronomical associations. I know they tend to vary on whichever book you read. I have one called Discovering Angels, by Christine Astill:-

Pages 82-89: deal with the Celestial Hierarchy.
Page 90: Angels and the planets.
Page 91: Angels and the Zodiac.
Page 92: Angels and the Months.

That's as much as I knew about 'angelic astronomy'. The star associations I didn't know, and thank you for telling me. There's a lot more layers of meaning to my Angel Dreams than I thought!!

Aldebaran: Taurus' 'eye': an orange giant about 40 times the size of the Sun.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++
Orion [Constellation of Osiris]; consists of the stars Alnitak, Alnilam, Mintaka [these make up the belt, and are represented by the Giza Pyramids], Betelgeuse, Rigel, Bellatrix, Eta Orionis, Saiph, and Hatsya.

Default Five Angels For Each of the Five Continents

at the Hand of Help Ministries website, there is a vision posted on it called THE FIVE ANGELS OF THE FIVE CONTINENTS. Each Angel was assigned over a different continent. Each angel had a bowl of wrath in his hands, represents the just wrath of GOD on a sinful world. When an angel would pour out the bowl, earthquakes would happen, floods would happen, war would happen, drought would come, all so severe, people will be as rare as fine gold!
