end of the world?

Hi new to the site looks very interesting the reason why i am here is because i had a very vivid dream last night which has really scared me.
i dream that me and my partner were looking out of a window and we saw an eclipse of the moon, but it happened really fast, then there was an eclipse of the sun again which happened really fast this repeated a couple of times, by this time we are both standing in the garden looking at this phonemena then the earth began to sway, we both lie down on the floor then people began to fall from the sky and land in the garden but when they were falling they were in a seated positon weird - then thats when my alarm clock woke me but i keep having flash backs of the dream all day and its begining to bother me- any one have any ideas what is going on in my crazy head!!

It just so happens at the moment I have depression, I hate my job I cant find a new one and I am very down on myself at present, is there any hope for me?

I suffered from depression last year, and had a breakdown. I ended up in hospital. It was very hard, and I felt my world had ended. [Eclipses used to be seen as portents of doom.] But it gave me time to think, and re-evaluate my life - what I want, where I'm going, my job, etc. It was the first time I was able to be that detached, and 'stand back'.

People at work were very good to me. In fact everyone has been, and still are. I've been lucky. But I too am beginning to have doubts whether I'm in the right job.

Yet things aren't as bad as they sometimes appear to be. Remember, eclipses are brief. The Sun and Moon always shine again! I felt the 'dark clouds' lift on me, and now I've almost got my life back on track. As the saying goes, there's a 'silver lining'.

I had something a bit similiar before.

In my dream I was a gardener, a unique type, that was planting a new discovery of a rose with 3 different unqiue one of a kind creation that would change the world. But I also have a girlfriend who is curious about my work, she thinks I spend too much time on my research. So she gave me the, "its either me or your project!". I couldn't answer her, so she gets upset and ran to the center of the bridge which divides my land to hers. I then ran after her, we're at the center of the bridge, I took her into my arms, toss the roses into the air, millions of rose petals flying all over the land. For the first time, I kissed her, at that very moment, A huge explosion, the land began to collapse, the bridge breaks, we ran to her side of the Island, the water rosed higher and higher until I had to carry her on my shoulder, as I was walking insde the sea were filled with dead bodies, it was like the Sea of the Dead.

Lou27, there does appear to be change happening or pending in your life which you feel is both potentially traumatic and impotant but seems to be connected to a relationship with someone close to you rather than unhappiness with your job which may only be a symptom of what's occurring in your life. Emotionally it seems to have thrown you off-balance yet it seems that others around you appear (to you) to be able to cope under similar circumstance which adds to your feelings of self-unworthiness causing you to be depressed. Jon's experience seems apro pos to your own except that at this stage you probably will be finding difficulty in viewing your situation objectively. If you could just see your own part in your own downfall it may help to find a better solution in bringing about change more acceptable to you. You certainly sound as if you have reached crossroads in life and don't know where to turn. You have my commisserations. While it is appropriate to respond to situations be careful about reacting to them which may only exacerbate your position and those awful feelings that you so desperately need to discard. To add to Jon's sentiment about every cloud having a silver-lining here's another consideration:

"When I hold back a tear
to let a smile appear,
I am only painting the
clouds with sunshine".

As my wife, who suffered severely in her life prior to our meeting, would say, "If I cried, I'd cry forever"! I'd guess you will appreciate this sentiment.
