Post The Vanishing Bride [12-13/06/07]

A beautiful sunlit bedroom. The décor was very ‘feminine’. The wallpaper had yellow and white stripes, with yellow roses on the white. The furniture was Victorian[?], cream-coloured, with fancy curled edges adorned with gilded bows, flowers and birds. On the door hung a floral garland of ‘black’ roses [really deep purple] and white lilies. It reminded me of a wreath... .

On the bed was an exquisite satin and lace ivory-coloured wedding dress. Above the bed was a watercolour of a pretty English village with a church. The clock said 2:40.. The bedcover was missing... .

Opposite the bed was a closed wardrobe. Next to it a dressing table with a toppled stool. The slightly folded-in ‘wings’ of the triple mirror reflected:-

A skull draped with a bridal veil, held in place by a delicate tiara. By it was a ring, also of silver and diamonds. There was also a hairbrush, and a large pair of sharp scissors.

Close to the bed were French Windows leading onto a balcony. Below was a garden with a large tree. A cut rope hung from a branch. Under the tree was a bench. Near it was two high-heeled shoes. And the seat from a swing.

Beyond the high garden wall was the village in the painting. The church bells were ringing. The clock said 1:45. There was the sound of running footsteps on the stairs outside the room, and shouting voices. The the door flew open, and….

There it ended. But what did it mean?

I don't know for sure. I need to know more details first. Do you have someone that you are close enough to, to be thinking about wanting to marry her? are you already married? If so, either of these situations might be at risk, and this might be a warning to tell you in time to save your relationship. It might also be a warning not to go any further with your plans for the moment. Or have you recently lost someone you were married or engaged to? Or is someone close to you gone through any of these situations?

Hi BlueAngel, and thanks for your feedback. Just to clarify: no I'm not married, and have never been. Neither do I have a fiancée. And I have no plans to marry and have kids in the near future.

Regards, Jon.

Hi again, Jon. According to a dream dictionary that I looked at, a wedding is often a symbol for change, and can sometimes symbolize sorrow, and loss. A bride can be a symbol of your feminine self, sometimes.
Since your bride is missing in the dream, could you be having feelings of lonliness, or loss? Or, if not you, is someone close to you dealing with these issues?

Thanks, BlueAngel, for your feedback. But I think the wedding dress, veil, ring and so forth are just parts of an intricate 'web' of meaning. This dream, I believe, is linked to the two previous Skull ones. Especially in the complex imagery. I think the three have to be 'read' together, as I believe each dream has clues to the meaning of the others.

Cheers. Regards. Jon
