Weird dream.. remembered all the details a few hours into the day.

I had a dream that the guys from the band Thrice ran a pizza shop. Dustin's [the lead singer] name wasn't in the name of the pizza place though. I was in front of the counter and saw him. I went "you're dustin, right?" he said "yeah, but call me ____... I don't like being known.. I just like being another casual guy." We talked for a little while and sometime during the conversation, he dropped some racial slurs and I found out he was a racist. He invited me and Andrew [my brother] to hang out with him and his friend. We took turns running next to the car while it was moving on this local highway by my house. We'd get out and switch seats by running around the moving car. It was fun. Then next thing I know, we wound up at some big empty beach hunting quail with shotguns. There were just tons of quail running around and we were shooting them for game, but they were helpless with nowhere to go. I felt bad that I was shooting these helpless animals, but kept doing it, I guess because I was just following along(?). We were drinking too. It was night, so there was a spotlight at the top of the beach we'd use to illuminate the beach. Sometimes, the quail would still be alive, but dying. I'd go up to them and touch them and feel the pellets from the shotgun under their skin while they were making these soft injured noises.. I'd be afraid they would bite me and I would get sad so I didn't touch them for long. I felt a lot of remorse for shooting them. I remember passing out next to a box of beer and waking up the next morning in the sand. Then we went back to the pizza shop and Dustin dropped me off. I had lost respect for him, being that he is good at writing music and I had found out that he was a racist ******* who shoots helpless animals..

This was the night of my birthday. I had some friends over and was fairly drunk when I fell asleep, so that explains why I was drinking and passed out on the beach. I can't remember if this dream was during the night, or in between the time I shut off my alarm and woke up a little late for work.

Anyone have any ideas/theories?

You may be realizing that the world is complex, people are not the same as the images they project. Anger, insults (shooting quail) hurt feelings and cause pain and hurt the shooter too. Save your ammunition for bigger fiercer game and think outside the box. You are probably a pretty smart guy.
