Not too sure how relevant any of this stuff will be but............
I have to admit I had 3 small glasses of white wine last night, but I do usually although its normally red or beer. I was by no means tipsy. Anyway I went to Bed at about 10:30 (usual time). I normally wake up a couple of times in the night for a few minutes but this time I slept the whole way through and woke up a 7:15 (normally the alarm goes off at 7:45). I was lying side-ways in my bed ( very unusual ) and totally did not have a clue where I was, what country I was in or what period of my life I was in!! After looking around the room I managed to work it quite quickly. I've broke from a 6 year relationship about 6 months ago and have been renting a room from a friend for the last 2 months. Have also travelled quite a lot in my life so its not like I've only ever lived in a few places.........is this relevant, I feel that was probably a factor only to how long it took me to work out where I was! Also have been having a few conversations with friends about face book and friends reunited so have a vague recollection about dreaming about groups of people I knew/ stages of my life etc. I really cant stop thinking out this and its really concerning to me, never ever happened before!! |

Join the club! Many of us are affected in this way. It is usually only temporary and can occur any time and in any place. I would guess that your mobility was a contributory factor. I have had the same experience on awakening of feeling totally disorientated. Twice while travelling on the motorways my memory went blank and I could not recognise my surroundings even though the area in question should have been familiar to me. I did not know where I was going nor from where I came and neither did I know who I was; not the kind of experience one would wish to have too often; and incidentally, I do not drink alcohol. Fortunately, those occasions were of a short duration but quite alarming. I like to believe that they are normal occurrences and that the men in white coats are not coming to drag me off!
