I dreamt that my uncle drove me, my mum, and sister from one town to another. All 3 of us were sitting in the back. We were in a regular car.

I know driving means guidance, but this uncle in real life was never there for us after my dad died, and he even caused us trouble. I don't see him as a guidance figure at all. We barely see or talk to him.

So what could it mean?

This dream might indicate how you perceive your uncle. You may feel as though he has put your family in the back seat or pushed you guys to the bottom of his list of values.

Or perhaps, it's not necessarily that he's guiding your family on a good path, but perhaps a bad one. Also, men tend to be more assertive, authoritative and carry out more powerful roles; he could symbolize some sort of leadership quality. Your family sitting in the back seat of the car could mean that you feel your family should take a more active part in controlling what happens in your lives because you may feel your uncle holds a lot of control over it.

Another scenario, however, could be this comes directly from the thought/belief that maybe your uncle should have been there after your father passed away and that he should have taken more control over the situation to help your family through the difficult time when he only made it worse; or maybe even take more responsibility in it.

Overall, after going through all the possibilities I think that perhaps you blame him for something. This is indicative by the fact that in your dream he was in the front seat driving and your family was in the back seat. He is chauffeuring your family thus making him responsible for your family, or perhaps your troubles.

To me, driving usually represents control of my destiny. If I am driving, that is good, if someone else is driving, then they have control of the situation.

The dream does seem to involve family, but it could also mean that the negative qualities that your uncle represents to you may be taking control. Perhaps you are being neglectful or insensitive in a situation where caring and active involvement is required.

Driving also has to do with having control. Was this uncle manipulative or controlling? Maybe you feel in the back seat in some situations in your life and someone else is at the wheel.
