Heres some background: In real life my girlfriend lives in Japan and I live in Australia. We are planning to live together under difficult financial circumstances in Australia in Oct this year. We love each other a lot and marriage is on the cards.

Last nite my girlfriend dreamed that we were at the airport and she had to go somewhere. We had to separate. She woke up sad but a bit glad that she had dreamed about me. Thats all that she can remember.

My interpretation would be that the geographical distance between you two invoked this dream in your girlfriend´s mind. Despite the fact that you´re moving together she´s subconsciously afraid that the distance may come between you two again for some unknown reason, so she had a dream where you had to live separated. Especially if you´ve been living far away from each other for a long time it may take a while for both of you to fully interiorize the fact that you won´t have to separate anymore in the future. My sister had a long distance relationship. And realised how hard it was to maintain. Is your girlfriend an Australian living in Japan. Or is she Japanese? That she dreamt about you, and it comforted her, shows the depth of her love. Your love for her comes through just as strongly in your words. As the saying goes 'absence makes the heart grow fonder'. So a 'reunion', esp after a length of time, will be all the sweeter.

Thanks to both of you for your help. My gf is Japanese, and yes the long distance relationship thing is tough. We have spent just 1 month out of the last 12 months together.
