Question Features From Both Grandmothers.

I had a dream last night that really freaked me out. My great grandmother [from my mothers side] is 89 years old. She has been really sick lately and was in the hospital for 2 weeks around March-April. They gave her a blood transfusion which seemed to have bought her a few months or more. She can`t get out of bed or do anything for herself because she is too weak. Ok, now on to the dream. In the dream, I was with my younger cousin who is 12 years old in some kind of building. Something in the building scared me, and i ran out. As I was approaching the door to exit the building, I looked through the window next to the door, and saw a familiar person laying dead on the stairs and I jumped over them and continued running. While i was running by, I saw the person`s face and the person was my grandmother. But, she had certain features from my grandmother that passed away on my fathers side of the family. My great grandmother is a short frail lady & always has been. But in the dream, she had a bigger frame, much like my father`s mother. And she had no wrinkles, also, much like my father`s mother. I noticed some features from both ladies.

I just want to know if this could possibly mean something. It doesn`t really upset me because my grandmother is suffering and I don`t want her to. But I just think it`s strange because my 2 grandmothers barely knew each other. Please someone help me here.

As a guess only, I would suggest that you are fond of both your maternal and paternal grandparents and your maternal great grandmother too, and the mixture of features in your dream may relate to those traits from each of them that have impacted on you. The remainder of your dream reflects your awareness of the pending demise of your great grandmother (rather than her daughter). It could also indicate that you are conscious of the limited time your own grandmother has remaining and you are possibly closer to her emotionally so hence her features.

Overall, it is the inward realisation that none of us is immortal.

i understand what your saying. but, my great grandmother is the one who is sick. so that would make her my mother`s grandmother. the one who passed away is my father`s mother. maybe i misunderstood your post. or maybe you misunderstood mine.

I think I lost the thread with yours but the principle still applies. I have partly corrected what I said but I am probably still 'wide of the mark' when relating to the hierarchy of your relatives.
