Question My Freakiest Dream

I was in a room. It was a perfect cube with white walls and a bare wooden floor. In the centre of three of the walls was a window. Each was square with four panes. They didn't open. The fourth wall had the only door. It had a round handle, and was locked. But there was no keyhole!

In the middle of the room was a plain wooden chair and table. The table was square with a leg at each corner. There was no other furniture. There was nothing on the table. Above the table was a bare light bulb, the only artificial light in the room. But there was no light switch!

The room was lit by natural light from the windows. It was a pale light, and illuminated the room evenly, without casting shadows. I tried to find the source, but couldn't see anything out of the windows. The glass was not clear, but 'frosted' - opaque or hazy.

I don’t recall entering this room. I found myself already in it. And couldn’t see any way out,. The door never unlocked. I tried shouting for help, But, when I opened my mouth, no sound came out.

This dream was very scary indeed. But what does it mean? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Jon.

Hi Jon

I think the only person who can interpret this dream properly is you yourself, as in my opinion these kind of dreams always reflect your personal life and issues to some extent. I can try to help you tho´

The way i see it, you´re trapped. And you feel like there´s no way out of it. I´d advice you to think of any situation in your real life that annoys you. Perhaps it´s a person who´s bugging you, or a relationship of which you feel there´s no way out. Maybe you´re subconsciously thinking of an impossible task or a problem that seems insoluble while you´re asleep. If you can think about anything related to these things I´m sure you´ll find a logical explanation to why you had such a confusing dream. I hope this helps

the room almost reminds me of a room where they interogate suspects except they normally have no windows i agree with the previous poster about you feeling trapped by someone or a certain situation

Thanks Clarity and kittymomma. I certainly did feel 'trapped'. Especially as there was no-one else there to assist me. Maybe part of it is the fact I've been in the same job for almost seven years. And it's become a real rut....

The feeling of no hope appears worse, as I just found the 'sequel dream' to it:

In my frustration I decided to break a window by hurling a chair. Oddly, the chair re-entered the room by breaking the window opposite me! And the chair smashed on the floor. Climbing through the first window, my fears were confirmed. I came back into the room through the other one....

So I broke the third window. Surely I couldn't come back in through the door? Nope. Back in through one of the other windows. The door was still locked. With the chair broken, that left the table. Which looked too fragile to bust the door. But, in any case, doors open inwards. Then the light faded and everything went dark....

There were no further dreams about the room after this one. Cheers, Jon.

Yes, I agree with you, Jon, this may have something to do with the job you told us about, especially as the sequel to the dream seems even more odd. Maybe you could consult your boss (unless you are the boss!) and ask for a variety in your tasks so you wouldn´t have to feel ´trapped´ any longer. Then again, there´s always the possibility to get another job if things get too frustrating for you. Good luck with everything!

Well, two leaving dos in the office last week certainly focuses the mind! I'm now in an office with The Management. But, luckily, I see little of them, as they're usually out. Meetings, apparently. But, more probably, shopping or the pub!! The Jobs Page in the local paper has not really inspired me of late. And my run of no-luck continues on the Lottery. Ho hum. Thank goodness for this Bank Holiday. And that my immediate boss has gone on leave for 2 weeks!! I'd feel like saying Hoorah, but I wish it was me....

Thanks again, Clarity.

hmmm....another hard one from JON, but that's what makes these fun. there is no doubt that you are trapped. windows are symbols of freedom and possibility but yours do not open and when they break they bring you back to the same place. seems to me you've answered all the questions for yourself regarding how to get out of this room and in your dream you showed that that is not the way out. so here's what i see, you ARE trapped but by your own doing. the chair and table is possibly a reference to your work. the windows tease you as does the door. You are giving yourself no way out, have you given up? this dream is a desperate one. Your dream has designed itself to show you you have no way out, but i do not think that is the case. what stands out to you the most in this dream? i find it curious that you use the chair to bust the window instead of your hands. That seems an important part of the dream. When we are desperate in dreams logic is usually left behind, but you thought wisely and used the chair. can you see where i am going?
keep me posted
best of luck
-licia

Yes I can see where your coming from on this. The situation was really desperate. My voiceless-ness was me being unable to make my despair heard. The windows were frosted, so I couldn’t see what would happen if I did try to escape. The light bulb shed no light on the matter. And, when I climbed out any of the windows, I still couldn’t see the source of the light which did illuminate the room. All I did was come back into that room….

It was like a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more hope less I felt, the worse things got. Maybe the room worked on my fears. If I’d had self-belief and been positive, things could’ve been very different.

What ‘stood’ out was the fact that the simple ‘rules of logic’ didn’t seem to apply. The place was weird and nonsensical. And appeared like a ‘parallel universe’ with the dimensions twisted in on themselves. So I ended up back where I’d started form. A bit like Snakes and Ladders, but only with the Snakes!!

BTW I've just posted on this one is weird . Maybe you can enlighten me on it!!

Thanks, Jon.

yes this one is weird i did figure out, i could send you a message on it but not for everyone to see.

I think this dream is one that you are creating. I think you are creating this dream to be hopeless and desperate. When we feel there is no hope in a situation in our lives we can become very stubborn and want to prove everyone who tries to help us wrong. This dream says that to me.

I've looked at your dragon undr the mountain dream, a very hard one indeed. i'm still working on that one.

best of luck

This dream is really desperate, like you said you feel like you´re not getting your voice heard, but the fact that in your dream your mind thinks there´s no way out it doesn´t mean there isn´t, so I do agree with you, Licia. Perhaps this dream was like a wake-up call from your subconscious to see things the way they are, to help you see things in another light. I hope things will work out for you
