Default Witnessed an Accident

My father and I were standing at the entrance/exit to a cemetery. We were getting ready to walk back to his house. However, before we could leave there was an auto collision. The driver of a small station wagon had stopped, and the driver of a second small station wagon didn't see it time. He rear ended the car in front of him. Nobody was hurt. Next, we looked inside the rear of the station wagon that had been hit and my dad commented on the fact that the upholstery in this car was rich and very thick. I addedd that it was probably a custom upholstery job. Then I heard a noise behind us. When we turned to look there was a group of women with baskets of food and dishes walking through the cemetery. They were going to a party somewhere. Then I woke up.
Any help or interpretations are always welcomed.

Hi Smitty. I’m glad no-one was hurt in this accident. The car that was hit could’ve been taking people to a funeral. And a vehicle hired for the occasion, rather than owned by the deceased’s family or friends. Why I think this is because of the “group of women with baskets of food and dishes walking through the cemetery”. It could’ve been for a wake. Was there a church or house in or beyond the cemetery? Alternatively, the owners of that car may’ve been rich.

The dream could mean that ‘accidental [unexpected] good fortune’ is coming your way. Or, at least, to someone you know. But you’re not sure when, how or why. Maybe via a legacy or bequest, hence the cemetery. The party could’ve been a celebration for this good luck.

Hope this helps, Jon.

well in some ways its very odd to comment on uphostry and furnishing when an accident has occured. Maybe this dream points to some out of place comment form the day before when something obviously quite serious was happening and some very out of place comment was made

------------------------
Nightmares have the ability to really frighten us. Thats because they contain weird and supernatural dream symbols such as demons and monsters. The forces that we fight against seem all too powerful. But really many nightmares are sourced right in the here and now. They symbolize our day to day traumas and difficulties. Many simply reflect on the previous day. Perhaps you simply took one risk too many? Perhaps you acted in a nasty and malicious way and your dream is alerting you to this.

Many nightmares will not mention anything that can remotely link to real life in any meaningful way. But the link to reality is there. Really the best way to see nightmares is simply ask your self what real life situations are drifting into some nightmare scenario? What relationship is becoming a real problem? If you look up nightmare in the dictionary its definition is probably more down to earth than dreams would have us believe. A nightmare is really just a very big problem. In real life we get problems all the time and sometimes they get out of hand.

Jon and Uncle,

Thanks for your responses. If I remember correctly, the women were walking diagonally through the cemetery. My father and I were at the exit ready to make a right turn when the accident occured. Uncle, my father is a old car buff so maybe that's where the comment came from. Thaks again.

Smitty, still the same old theme but with some progression to the story-line. It sounds as if you and your wife might have seperated and that you have returned to your father's abode. This possibly could be due to your professional demise which you feel arose from an insignificant incident where no injury was caused. Your professional life was one in which you felt comfortable until this incident. Staff were relieved by your departure. A beautiful allegory. I am reminded here of the lyrics of the song, 'Getting to know you, getting to know all about you'. Keep dreaming!
