my latest dream

Okay my dream from last night was a strange one, here goes:
I'm on a beautiful beach but it's shaded almost like it's in the biggest of rooms. No sun but it's warm and cozy. There is no one on this beach but me, a mother and her daughter. The ocean is quiet and still, the water is up to the mother and daughter but stays put. The mother and daughter look like they are from the '40's, their bathing suits and hair are of that era, the woman is wearing a bathing suit of light bue, the girl's i can't remember,and the mother is lying down with her arm under her head and the girl sitting beside her facing away from me, I am right beside them, the rest of the beach has very little color, like the color knob(isn't knob a funny word?) was turned down. The sand is wet and packed but very soft. The girl and her mother both brought their jewlery boxes and the little girl was playing with her lotion. I never saw the girls face, it was as if I wasn't there, but at one point i softely run the soft sand over her back which was as soft as silk. The mother looks to be around her early 30's, the girl around 10 (the age of my little sister). I know that these two are spending time together because the mother is leaving the little girl to go to the man she loves in Paris, i look down and the mother has cupped water in her hand along with speckles of sand which turn into sparkles like small little diamonds and they are so beautiful. Next thing the woman uses my cell phone (funny how it seems like the '40's and she does this) to call her man and he says in french which i can understand in the dream that he is ill and for her not to come, she hands the phone back to me and i drop it in my lap, my lap is full of water from the ocean and my phone gets wet, i grap it and put it on a table the girl and daughter are gone and i'm in a store much like SAM's (a wholesale type dept store that sells everything from groceries to furniture) and me and my boyfriend are in the hunting section and i see quite an elaborate doghouse, on closer inspection i notice it's not a doghouse but for people, it has two benches inside that convert to beds and i start telling my boyfriend that we should get the beds inside it aligned (they are diagonal to each other) so we can sleep beside each other. Inside the house is a teenage boy in faded jeans and a t'shirt who worked for the store and was laying on the bed reading a magazine giving an example on how to use the bed, next my boyfriend woke me up.
The beach was very calm but melancholy. Now this woman and little girl could be me and my little sister, i've wanted to leave with my boyfriend and get away from my father for awhile but i worry about leaving her. but the rest of it i can't understand. The woman had long brown hair, i have black and she was very plain but beautiful. any help is much appreciated

Hi Licia,
I think you have a good handle on the dream - it is probably based on your present problems and moral dilemmas. Howeve the subconscious mind likes to embroider the dream with its own creative frills to make it more intrigueing.
One of the problems with dreams is to estimate how long the remembered part lasts. My experience is that dreams happen in "dream time" that is to say that the early part of dreams are rarely remembered, and the remembered parts can happen in fractions of a second.

This could be interesting as most of your dream could have been caused by your boyfriend waking you up!

Thank you wolfjk. I do believe that outside elements have alot to do with dreams. But i wonder, this dream was so beautiful in the beginning and seems to be lingering in my head especially the shade of the beach, the diamond sparkles and her blue bathing suit, i feel like it might mean something more. This is a moral dilmma and if i can get any answers even if from a dream they would be welcome.
