Sad Dream

Hello all. I'm coming to you for help over an upsetting dream I had about a month or so ago. A little background, first. I had a very special dog that I dearly loved. In November of last year, I had to have him put to sleep because of lung cancer. I'd had him for 13 years. Of course I felt guilt about having to do it. He had to go to a back room for them to put the catheter in his leg and didn't want to go, his tail was tucked. This has haunted me ever since. I still can't think about it without crying.
I adopted an older dog in early December. The house was just too empty. He's a sweet dog and I love him. Part of me will always be missing without my heart dog, though.

The dream:
My dog had a favorite blanket that he loved to sleep on. In the dream, he was covered up with this blanket. I thought to myself that I neede to check on him. It had been a couple of days since I had. I uncovered him and asked him if he wanted to go potty. He looked so happy. But he couldn't move. Then I woke up. It's left me very sad and depressed. Anyone have an idea what it means?

Any help will be appreciated a lot.

Hi there, that's a very sad dream indeed.
I would say that this dream has alot to do with your inability to let go of your guilt. He doesn't get up in the dream perhaps because you are keeping him there with guilt concentrating too much his being led back scared but when a dog is put to sleep it is a very peaceful time, i'm sure that in his last moments he felt no fear. Also keep this in mind, the nurses and vets that helped your friend are lovers of animals and would not have wanted him to be afraid, I am sure they comforted him. I would guess that this dream is trying to tell you to let go of your guilt.

Thanks so much. I haven't interpreted dreams before so I can't help anyone. I forgot to say they brought him back to me. He was with me when they put him to sleep. I was hugging him. I just wish I could get past it.

Well i'm glad to see that he was with you, and i would say that is dream is most definintley about letting go of guilt. I'm sorry to hear of your loss, pets are family and they hurt just as much to lose.

Covered with a blanket means he/she will receive some dignity.He couldn't move is not good.
