Post Ship Causes Tidal Wave!

I had this dream last night. It is a little odd, and was set in the late 19th Century.

A steamship - the 'Caledonian Star' - strikes a submerged reef, and starts to founder. The engine or boiler room has been damaged, and is taking on water.

Because the seawater is cooler than the machinery, there are several explosions. The biggest and final one is mistaken for thunder or cannon fire by people living on nearby islands. It virtually destroys the ship.

The disaster occurred before ships had radios, so no SOS can be sent. Very few people manage to escape, and they do so mainly by jumping overboard. The ship sank too quickly to launch any lifeboats.

The last explosion occurs as the ship goes under. And triggers an undersea landslide. This creates a tidal wave or waves which strike(s) a nearby island and drowns one or more fishing villages. The number of fatalities [including those on the ship] is uncertain. As is the number of survivors.

When divers go down to the wreck they notice about one-third of the ship is missing. And see the site of the fatal landslide.

What does this mean?

Try at first to see how the dream could represent your current thoughts before delving into all kinds of pyschic experiences.

Deams use something as a symbol for things happening in your life. In the dream a signal about some crisiss that ais about to occur is not sent out because of some problem. Is there some comparable situation where you wish to tell someone how serious things are ? Are you worried about some impendiung crisis that could cause major waves in your life?

------------------------
Dreams are fascinating but maybe its best not to delve too deeply into their meanings and seek advice. Try not to rely on them as dreams are notoriously difficult to interpret. Yet they do tend to concentrate on recent events and new feelings. You should be able to spot the formation of your own conceptual emotions(with some practice).Deeply hidden inside a dream is some conception perhaps to the previous day. Some slight change in your own thoughts (so concentrate on those changes and see if they maybe featured in the dream).

The main fascination of dreams is how they link to the storage and formation of conceptual feelings. Conceptual feelings must be stored in the brain and perhaps the dreams that we have show how we store such ideas. Instead of using the word STRUGGLE the dream mind instead uses a situation involving a struggle. Instead of using the phrase "closer and closer" the dream mind instead uses the symbol of golf where the object is to get closer and closer to some eventual aim (to pot the ball).

Instead of trying to interpret your dreams just go to your own conceptual feelings and then see what recent thoughts could feature in your reams. Say some argument or situation from the day before. Maybe your dream could link to some task or issue about to be faced on the actual day of the dream?

Hi,
The sinking ship means a group who will receive some power from a big boss.

If one dreamt he was drowned in the sea and died means there is a danger by the governor.
If dreamt he was drowned in the water and was up again means he will give up the material affairs and will be busy for the spirituals.
If dreamt his property or his livestock was drowned means he will stuck up in an affair but will rescue at last.
Being drowned may also mean :1- plenty of money 2- a fortune 3- sitting with bad moral people 4- benefit.

Thanks for your feedback and those links. I admit the conjunction of disastrous elements in the dream has me worried. They seemed to happen like some kind of 'domino effect'. At the moment I'm consulting a Dream Dictionary I've got, trying to 'decipher' the images contained in the dream. I just hope they don't bode ill in my everyday life!

Cheers, Jon.

Thanks for you feedback. Your posting has sure given me some 'mixed messages'! As I wrote to unclesirbobbyrobson, I'm reading up at the moment to see what to make of that dream. And how to 'read' it....

Cheers
Jon
