Default Death Dream

Last night I had a dream in which what I thought of as my infant son was dead. How it was is that for some reason me and other family members were cleaning the bodies of deceased members of the family. According to my dream my son had died a year or so prior and for some reason I was cleaning him. The feeling I had was not one of sadness or fear, it was really kind of a peacefully feeling. The problem is that the body of the child was that of a little girl not a boy and now reminds me something like my niece when she was a baby (she is now almost 4). Also, his body was in a cake box (his 1st birthday is on the 20th). I also had to ask what he died from. I then had a flash back of him dieing. His lungs had filled with fluid and I remember his last breath and a doctor telling me it was phnemoia. Besides this going on, I had a side thing kind of going on. I which I was speaking to woman who was sick, termanally I think. I was telling her how sorry I was that she was sick and we were talking about other things. After a while in the conversation, she stated laughing about how years prior at prom a girl was raped and it was my now deceased Aunt Alison. I then told her if that is the way she is maybe she deserves to be sick. I have had death dreams before in which people did die and I have had some that were so really, but it never happened. What does all of this mean? Why my son?

Oh, I almost forgot, we were commenting on the body's condition, which was good except the eyes were black. Anyone have any ideas? They would be much appreciated.

Hi,
Apart from asking what does a dream mean, you should also consider what a dream does. I believe that the meaning is less important than the reason for the dream.
It would be very difficult for any non-lucid dreamer to interpret your dream since the dream starts out in the realm of very deep sleep where dreams are necessarily very violent and strange.

Unquote,
This would be a very disturbing dream, however the subconscious puts in the peaceful feeling to stop you from panicking in your dream. What the dream is doing is bringing you out from deep sleep where the level of consciousness is very low to a higher level where your brain can grasp the unreality of the situation. There are several moderating factors in the dream that stops you from waking up too quickly: The body is that of a little girl, the age difference, the cake box, and the condition of the body.
The reason for the dream is hinted at in the text:"His lungs had filled with fluid and I remember his last breath and a doctor telling me it was phnemoia."
This probably refers to your own condition in the sleep. My guess is that you had an acid reflux or a fit of violent coughing fit in your sleep and the dream was designed to wake you up from it. I know from experience that you are unlikely to remember how you felt when you woke from this dream because the strangeness and content of the dream would have obscured the real reason: your problems in sleep.
It is difficult to understand the controls dreams have over the sleeper - and it is even harder to grasp the healing power of dreams.
I hope this helps you to understand that dreams are always related to the sleeper and the sleep they happen in. The storyline and content of dreams comes from the sleepers experiences and creative imaginations.
Cheers Wolfjk

So, basically it has to do with my own condition. It doesn't have to do with anything forboting in the future? Or maybe deep seeded fears of him dieing? Well, that is great!! His first birthday is coming up and I am a little emotional about that. My baby is no longer a baby. But thank you soo much for your help. Gina

How you described this dream is a bit confusing and I wonder if you are hiding some embarrassment. Obviously you do not need to respond to what I am next about to say but you seem to have an underlying problem about rape and, should this be correct, then could it be that in your mind you fear that your son might be the product of this occurrence? You seem to enjoy the pleasure of your son and have the normal motherly concerns about his health and the peaceful feeling described could indicate that his health is okay and that your worry over him arises from some other source. If you have been imposed upon sexually then you could be harbouring guilt which is coming to the surface in your dreams as you feel uncomfortable about this past incident. I also wonder if alcohol has some connection. If this interpretation is a close reflection of a past incident then your concern is natural but other than your own perception of the event this is not something worthy of allowing to interrupt your present or future happiness. It almost seems that whoever this other person might be, he still seems to be affecting your life, and if this is the situation then try not to let the past creep into the present and continue to disrupt your life. We all suffer indignities in life which ultimately goes down to experience and it sure is best not to harbour regrets. I trust that your son had a good day on his birthday.

Hi,
Cleaning the passed away people's bodies means you will do charities for their sake.
Death of live people means a problem of them will be solved.
Dreams of immatured children is about their parents boys to their father and girls to their mother. So, your son died means his father will have a problem solved and your niece was dead means her mother will have a problem solved soon in the near future.
Good luck.
