Fire and my Guinea Pig

In my dream my guinea pig that died when I was 12 was still alive (I'm 20 now). My guinea pig was on the floor, and we also had some cats, which were interested in the guinea pig. To make sure the cats didn't hurt the guinea pig, we put a laundry basket over the guinea pig, so that it was sort of like a cage.

In my dream, we had some friends who lived in the house directly behind us. They were taking care of the cats and the guinea pig, and my sister was over there with them. I was at my house, and I looked out the window into my friend's backyard, and I saw a flame in the grass. It wasn't very big but of course I was worried that it was going to grow. I was looking for my mom to tell her. I was walking around urgently looking for her, and then I had my cell phone and I was going to call her on my cell phone. I remember thinking that this was the kind of thing I should call 911 about, but I didn't want to for some reason, I didn't want to make too big of a deal about it, though I did think it was a serious problem.

Then I went back to my friend's place and I found out that they had seen the flame in the backyard, and they had thrown a bunch of snow on it to put it out. I felt sort of silly, like I had made too big of a deal about it, when they had put it out so easily. Then I found out that as a result of the fire, my guinea pig had gotten injured. Not burned though, for some reason the fire had caused her to get a hole drilled in her eye. They didn't show me the hole on the guinea pig herself though, instead they showed it on a 3-D model of the guinea pig, which showed the exact shape and size of the whole in the eye. I was thinking that this meant we were probably going to have to put her to sleep, and I was worried because I didn't want to have to tell my friends that my guinea pig was getting put to sleep, because she was too young it seemed. Then I woke up and remembered that my guinea pig had died 8 years ago.
