BIG white snake

Well, I walk my dogs on the beach everyday but have heard that there have been many puff adders about and a few dogs have been killed by them so I don't know if that is what triggered it off....I too am terrified of snakes!

Last night I dreamt there was this HUGE white snake in my yard. It was really huge and didn't look anything like a puff adder and although I say "My yard"... it wasn't the yeard I have here but all my dogs were there! This snake was very active and writhing around at the top of what I knew was the back garden. In real life I have a neighbours dog that sort of has two homes, mine and my neighbours.....he is tiny and still a puppy and very inquisitive. In my dream he was investigatin this HUGE snake and I was calling him away (ofcourse he just wanted to see exactly what this huge white thing was). I knew that if this snake bit him, he would be dead in a minute (the puff adder is deadly and its venom works very fast). Anyway, I got the little one away but then another dog that in my dream was my old bloodhound Ben ....but didn't look like Ben in my dream, and was not even looking at this big snake, he was barking at something in the other direction. The snake bit him on the foot for no reason and he ran into a shed where he normally slept. I went to check on him hoping that it maybe didn't get his venom into my dog. I managed to get passed the snake........it didn't bite me (in real life I would have got someone to kill the snake before even venturing outside). I got to the shed and my dog was busy dying, he was lying on his back and shivering with his eyes closed and I knew there was nothing I could do.

What does this mean????

well, if it wasn't triggered by the news you've been hearing, then it may mean that you are not relating well to the outside world.
are you losing contact with people? especially people that were important to you before; maybe family too.

On the contrary, my husband is working up country (was given a big contract) and comes home every 2 weeks. I settled into another BORING weekend with out him (I really miss him terribly) and ended up going crab fishing with an OLD friend of mine that I met here in this town over 30 years ago. He has Great Danes (dogs) and I warned him about the puff adders yesterday. I could have turned down his offer (thinking it might not be right to go off with a male when my husband is away but am confident enough that we are just old pals and he taught me to fish when I was eleven years old......we were eleven years old again, same humour and giggles so the snake had nothing to do with what could have happened or anything.) I think it may have been triggered by my warning him of the puff adders around like you said?

no, i don't think the dream was triggered by the news. I think the news triggered the types of images used in your dream.

But you can translate that dream directly into your situation as you explained it. I haven't figured it all out but it does fit.
the barking dog is an aspect of you barking at the world for thinking anything of you going out with this guy while hubby is away.
the snake could be rumors, or your worry about rumors and gossip.
The puppy is something innocent.

Yes, I love my husband but this is an old friend of mine from when I was 11, I am 46 now but he and I act like we did when we were 11 and it is innocent fun. Yes, I worry if someone spots us...this is a small town, even though my husband knows I went with him and the fun we had.....the puppy is the innocence that it is....I love my husband more than life and would not do anything to hurt him but others will percieve this as less than innocent I know. But it is my life and if there is only one shot I am not going to waste it.

The dog dying might be that aspect of you that was worried or defensive about perceptions dying out. It could mean you are relaxing a bit about that what people think and not gonna get involved or influenced by vicious rumors.

So what does my dream mean, it didn't bite me but I was worried about it getting one of my dogs, then it got one who I thought was my ben but it wasn't anything like him when I saw it dying......that still affected me, if I saw ANY dog in that state I would have been distressed.
