Losing a Contest

This dream was rather weird and hard to describe, but here goes. I was a contestant in this strange game. A game show host would ask a contestant a question then the contestant would walk among a group of beautiful people (Men and women) searching for someone who would hopefully help them find an answer. The woman who I picked refused to help me so I left. As I was leaving, I was joined by another man who was plain looking like me. He started complaining about losing the contest. After listening to him, I turned to look at him and said, "They don't want to have sex with you unless you are beautiful, I don't care what anybody says." Then I walked away from the arena and kept going.
Any help is always appreciated.

Dreams symbolize our own thoughts. In a given situation we attach positive feelings towards others whom we admire. But if we feel excluded by them then maybe we cease to be motivated by them. We lose interest in them as role models. Perhaps this refers to a similar situation for you. Feeling excluded and left out on account of image. It may relate to anything. A work situation. It may relate to some TV star whom used to motivate you. But then they acted in a certain way towards a person whom was similar to you in real life. So reality comes crashing down.

It is actually possible to understand what dreams mean. Simply look at the effects on people who have gone without sleep for a long time period. If you are deprived of sleep for several days then you will slip into madness. The reason for this is that sleep and dreams are linked to vital brain functions.

During the day we store up new thoughts and experiences within short term memory blocks. So if we are deprived sleep these become overloaded. The mind has no more space to store new feelings so these are merely forgotten.

During sleep vital brain waves emerge. Beta waves and theta waves are only ever detected within the brain at night. These help us process through those new feelings and experiences stored in short term memory. We integrate these new feelings into long term memory blocks. So if you do not sleep then you will not be updating your thoughts. You will not be building a bigger picture.

Maybe this dream had to do with celebrities. sometimes it seems like there are two sets of rules and standards for people in the world.
