Default Needed for new book: dream stories of deceased loved ones

Hello Fellow Dream Enthusiasts,

My book, The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of: Expanding Your Awareness Through Dreams and Daydreams, was published in 2001. It contains dream stories that show how we can learn practical and esoteric information via the dream realm. (It is still available on amazon.com, if youÂ’re interested.)

Currently, I am working on another book which also focuses on dreams. Specifically, I am compiling dream stories where deceased loved ones have appeared to offer encouragement, comfort or advice to the dreamer. It is slated to be of interest to both dream aficionados as well as those dealing with death and the ensuing grief.

Do you have just such a story you are willing to share? If you do, certainly post it here if you like, however for it to be considered for my book, you will also need to email it directly to me at the address below. Please be assured that you will have final approval of how the story appears in the book once it is written and that all names will be changed to safeguard those involved.

Thank you for assistance with this project and I hope to hear from you in the near future.

Happy Dreaming,
Joan M. Wolfe

Hello,
I haven't got any story ready in my mind but I'm sure if you have a search here in the archieve and also in the old message board link you'll find hundreds of such a stories. The word "deceased or passed away"
will be good.
Good luck.

Hello Joan,

I had an interesting dream in 1999 when my father died. He lived in Baltimore MD and I live in FL. So when his liver was failing him, and it looked really bad for him, I drove up there and stayed with him to help out during his last days.

Anyway, he died one night there in baltimore's main hospital. The night after he died is when I had the dream.

In the dream, my grandmother was there, someone who I was close to as a child, but seldom/never saw as an adult. She suffered from advanced alzimers, and in the end was incapable of speech. She slide downhill slowly according to dad, for years she gradually got to the point that she could not recognize anyone, and giggled like a little school girl when anyone came to visit...

In the dream I was sitting with her on a bench near a table with my seldom heard from cousin. She looked "serious" and "intelligent" in the dream.

She looked at me and Randy and said, "I never had a chance to say goodbye" She bid us both farewell and that was the end of the dream.

Now the interesting part.

I did not attend her funeral and have never been to this cemetery before in my life. When we went to bury my Dad, it was the EXACT same cemetery as in the dream, and oddly enough there was a bench with a table near it. Exact details as in the dream!

The final thing that impressed me was that my cousin Randy, the only other person in the dream, was the ONLY person other than me that did not attend her funeral. A fact I had no knowledge of...

What makes this significant is this:

A. cemetery details the same as dream. It can be argued that all cemeteries look the same, granted, BUT the bench and table are unusual and this is common practice at this cemetery and not at others. A fact I had no prior knowledge of.

B. I am not close to Randy. There was NO reason for him to be in my subconsious mind while I was dreaming, also I had not seen him in many years, yet when I did see him at Dad's funeral he look exactly like he did in the dream....

To me this offered me a strange proof of two things. First, we do live on after death. Too many details to this that could not have originated from my sleeping subconscious. And second, we do NOT retain our mental illnesses after death.

I realize you are asking for dreams of people who have passed on. I have had other encounters with the "other side" but they are not in dream form. If you are interested I will share them.

Best of luck on your book.

Folks, please post anything you got for Joan, she is an established author and I think it would be nice if we could help her with material.

Thanks!

Mike

Well there is only one dream I can think of that featured someone who has died. But the person it was about was not someone I knew. I had a dream about Princess Diana of the Brotish Royal family who died in a car crash 10 years ago. I cannot remember much of the dream but there was just this sense of overwhelming goodness in it. I had the dream at the time I became interested in art. I drew many figures form photos of a wide variety. I drew soccer players, family and also photos from newspapers. One drawing was of Princess Diana. When I drew someone I always felt a weird pyschic conection to them. With Prioncess Diana this was especially so as I had a dream prior to her death that seemed to be a premonition of the crash.

But cannot say I have many dreams of people who have died. I do not actually know that many people who have died. My gran died but she was a rather stoical lady and I was not really that close to her. I did have a strange experience when she did die. I woke up. I felt a real sense of presence in the room. I felt it to such an extent that I spoke out and said "I cannot see you but I know you are there". The next day I found out that my Grandmother had died in the night. Admittedly she was suffering cancer but still they said that she could live on for another six months. The incident tookl place at exactly the time my grandmother died(I woke up at roughly 2am which was the time that she died)

I have had one or two dreams which featured her in the year or so after but cannot remember them. As for my other relatives my grandmother and Grandad are both heading for 100 and seem unlikely to stop

In some ways understanding dreams is easy. Dreams refer very often to the day before and some pressing issue or fantasy on your mind. They can also link to the day to come and pressing issues that we are about to face. If your mind is focused on some on going problem or change in your life then try concentrating on that. Thats the easy bit. Its easy to spot the issues that can cause dreams but the hard part is linking those real life issues to the dream symbols. Try to make any loose associations. For instance if you were writing a report the day before for work then try to make loose connections to that. Did the dream feature any books, reports, typing or printing? Did the dream capture the emotions that you had about the project? Did the dream feature work in any way? If so then try developing those connections. See if you can then link other dream symbols to the dream.

Default Thanks Mike!

Mike,

I definitely want to use your story because it illustrated from you -- as it will help assure others -- that there is life after death of the body and that we are able to know and experience things through dreams that are esoteric in nature.

I will write the story in the next week and need to be in contact with you to ask questions, get your ok, etc. Could you email me so that I can correspond with you directly? My email address is

Thanks again for your enthusiastic participation!

Peace, Joan
