Hi everyone.
I am a 16 year old boy and quite recently (about half a month ago) I met this girl during a careers course thingy. I haven't been able to stop thinking about her, and she's been in most of my dreams since then. I've written down all the ones I can remember (save forum space - I've put them all in this thread). Could you help me out in analysing them please? Thanks Anusiya The first one - the night I met her. Context: Had just met this really nice girl. We had got talking and I felt we had really connected. Dream: It is really dark and misty (so much so that I can't see the floor). I'm riding a white pony, with grey spotted legs. She (the other person) is also it behind me, we are riding bareback (don't ask me how two people can ride on a pony thats only about 1 metre 20 tall). This pony has a really long grey mane and tail. Nothing much really happens - the pony is just walking. During this dream, I remember feeling calm and happy - there is no turbulence at all. The second one - about a week ago. I'm at school and I'm wearing my jacket. One of my gerbils has jumped into my jacket pocket and decides to come out to play for a bit - I am completely unaware of this until she begins to climb up my arm. I take her and ask my biology teacher for a cage just for the rest of the day. He goes off to get it. As he is gone, everyone else is crowding round me and they want to play with it. I let them. I remember one person, when the gerbil is on his arm, flicks it off, saying "vermin!" the gerbil lands about 3metres away on the floor and runs around in the corridors. I don't know how or why, I just have a gut feeling that this is related to her in some way The third one - night immediately after the 2nd one. Context: Involves the same girl as in my earlier one - have had difficulty thinking about much else. Also, recently applied for a medical careers course in London, for which I'd have to catch a train and then the metro. Dream: On arriving at the metro station, I meet the same girl. She is wearing a long, red coat, but doesnt seem to notice me. I walk behind her. Eventually, another boy comes out from behind a pillar and they meet. She turns round, says "Hi" to me, but then leaves in a hurry. Soon afterwards, I meet another boy. He is quite quiet. We talk about some things. The metro train arrives, and he explains to me why we shouldn't go into the 1st class compartment (I know metro trains don't usually have 1st class areas, but this does). As people go into the train, the station begins to move along the tracks and leaves the train behind. It comes out of a tunnel and is on a well lit road. There are buildings and tall, orange street lights. The fourth one - night immediately after the 3rd I am on msn talking to this girl. It is daytime. I can't remember much of what happened, but I remember telling her exactly how I feel without much difficulty and feeling relieved. She didn't seem to get freaked out and during that conversation in the dream the feelings seemed to be reciprocal. Other than that, everything seems normal The fifth one - immediately afterwards 1. I am in a clearing in a forest. There are rows of wooden desks made from logs arranged with an aisle in the middle. At the far end, there is a very tall tree. There are stairs and an elevator leading up it. I go up. There is a group of 7 girls - one I recognise as someone I had met briefly a few weeks ago. They need help manufacturing something - I help them and we get talking knowing my own group is on the ground as well. Surrounding the trunk of the tree at this level (everyone is on leaves), there is a large glass bowl, which begins to fill with water. One of the girls drops a wine glass in the water. We get it out, and take some water out with it. I then find out that these girls are 3 years younger than me, and I leave the tree and return to my own group. When I get there, I see people sitting at desks separated by a few metres. I have entered the maths exam. I find my seat. The paper is bright orange. I open the pages, and look at the questions - I know the answers but can't write them down. In some of the seats surrounding me are two girls who look about my age and have long blonde hair. They are twins. The one in front turns round and asks "Hi. What's your name?" I answer. Both the girls spin their chairs round and we begin talking. The invigilator asks for silence but we don't listen - I feel we have really connected. By the end of this, we are sitting on the floor (our chairs and desks have vanished) and my papers are scattered all over the place). The invigilator comes over as we talk and giggle etc. He says: "This is the last time I'll ask, be quiet." We are instantly silent, and I signal that I'll call the girls. One of them (who looks like another girl I'd met a few weeks ago and whose email I just got today) writes down a telephone number in big writing. Then they vanish. I get up, and find myself in my biology classroom. I am suddenly wearing my lab coat. We are doing a lesson on cancer. As the lesson finishes, one of the students next to me undoes my tie. I try to re-tie it back up, but the ends are too long, and I have to do it again. It is tuesday. I keep trying to do my tie up, but every time it is long. I also forget which lesson I have next. I am getting very worried now. The next class begins to file in, and takes their seats. I am still struggling with my tie as the lesson begins. I get my tie sorted, but still can't remember which lesson I have next, so I stay in biology asking some students if they know. Half way through the lesson, we are sitting on the floor against the window. I suddenly remember that I have chemistry now. It is 2:00pm. I ask the biology teacher if I could leave the lesson to go to chemistry now that I've remembered. He says yes. I go up to chemistry, and the teacher is absent. All the students are in the back (but not in their usual seats) doing a titration. I ask what's happening - one of them replies that we are doing an assessed titration. I am getting very worried and suddenly realise that I've left my lab coat downstairs. That's when I decide to wake up. The 6th one - immediately afterwards I'm in a lecture theatre (there is no stage however). The floor is covered unorderdly with wooden chairs. I am in the 5th row from the front. She (the same girl) is on the 2nd row. The other students in the lecture are leaving, and soon it is just us 2 (and a doctor in white coat who looks like my dad/cousin mix but talks like Dr Cox off Scrubs - you ever seen it?). When the room is empty apart from us 3, I have to say goodbye to everyone because I have a feeling I won't be seeing them again. First I go to the girl and catch her as she is leaving. We say bye and promise to keep in touch (that bit was pretty much an indoors instant replay of something that did actually happen). Then I hug her and kiss her on the cheek. She seems surprised but flattered and doesn't seem to mind; but has to hurry off because her parents are parked in a non-parking zone. I am left feeling warm inside that she wasn't freaked out. Then I go to the doctor. He has been my mentor for the past 5 years. I know I will never see him again. He holds out his hand to shake mine but instead I hug him. I am crying because we will never see each other again. Even he has put down his sarcastic front and tries to comfort me. Then he vanishes. I think this person represents my old personality which I've kinda outgrown - he's very emotional but tries to hide it under sarcasm. I think this character needs to be explored further. At this point I woke up and had to get a drink before going back to sleep. The dream continued. When I go back to sleep, I am standing outside the hall. The place is very dark, there are floodlights everywhere; and the building looks a lot like my school, but rotated 90 degrees clockwise and placed on a grassy slope. I see one of my friends from school - I haven't really spoke to him since June however. He warns me that we have to leave the school-like building without being seen by the floodlights and any car lights. So we try to sneak out. But, in the final 100m or so of the field, I am spotted by the car headlights of my parents' car. I am forced to go the car but I don't want to - I know something bad will happen if I get in. Have a strong feeling about the car and how I felt worried about them. I think this also needs to be explored as well Does anyone have any thoughts about these? They've been causing me serious distress since I've seen them Thanks Anusiya |

Hi Anusiya
There are a lot of dreams there. I tend to interpret dreams in a way that links them to the previous day or to some issue currently dominating our minds. In most cases I believe that you can spot the meanings of dreams because they capture new feelings. Because dreams concentrate on new feelings these are the kinds of comments that we will be talking about right now. For instance it maybe about a thought where you say "actually just recently my opinion has changed". So dreams may link to moments when you stop trusting someone or a moment when you feel you are failing rather than achieveing We have one good clue in this dream. It involves this girl from this careers thing that you mention. You can read this two ways. This girl represents one of two things/three things 1. Your overwhelming attraction to her 2. Your ability to connect with her and talk freely with her 3. Your thoughts about your career and need to plan for it( she is an attactive girl and so is associated with good thoughts about the career you are planning Try to relate dreams to specific feelings from the day before. for instance the maths exam thing could capture this kind of thought "I have been trying to do my maths homework but I keep getting distracted by the internet , friends, and anything that interests me(like girls)" Each dream has a different meaning but there maybe common threads. The simple way to understand the dream is this. Try to look at the symbol and see what actual real life thought processes have dominated your mind. eg The dream involves a girl and careers things. So try to put these two together. here are some possibilities "I need to plan my studies out and really need to put more effort in but I keep getting distracted"(if thats the truth then thats possibily the answer. You should be able to recognise the truth in dreams). "I am attracted to that girl I met at the careers thing. I really want her or someone like her"(so its a fantasy showing your mind focusing on attractive girls) The trouble is with dreams is that their meaning is usually VERY SPECIFIC rather than very general. So your dreams are usually about some specific thought process fromt he day before. It maybe was about an incident then but may simply link to some fantasy(about girls or careers) or paranoia. --------------------------------------- Some dreams mark a change in our feelings. They represent a new and fresh insight into some situation in your life. They maybe represent a new strategy to a task that you are focusing your mind on. Other dreams do not link to a change in our thinking. These dreams will simply link to strong emotions. They maybe show that a pressing issue is dominating our thinking. Perhaps it may link to some difficult relationship that simply will not resolve itself. In such cases the dream will capture your continuing strong emotions and frustrations.
