No One Would Talk to Me

My wife and I were teaching together in my former school that I had transferred from. However, the students lived in a rundown dormitory and took a bus to school. Many of my former students along with my wife got on the bus, but nobody even looked at me. Then two older boys about high school age got on the bus but refused to sit even when the bus driver told them to. Then I looked at them and commented that if they didn't sit down then I would have to report them to the principal. If they did sit and never give the bus driver a difficult time anymore then I would pretend like the incident never happened. Both of them grumbled, but sat down. When we arrived at the school, I was shocked to learn that I had no classes to teach, but traveled from one classroom into another. The main hallway was bright with green carpet, but I was in a room that was rundown and unpainted. Many people traveled between these two rooms. Still no one would speak to me, it was like I didn't even exist there.
Any help is appreciated.
