Racing Around a Tree

I was running around a mature tree (oak) that was in leaf very quickly. There were other racers there with me and all of us were dressed in white. Even though I ran very quickly, I was passed by many people and felt so disappointed by that.
A pun of "running around in circles" perhaps? Any help or interpretations are always welcomed.

Could it be the ‘race of life’ where you feel some are ‘overtaking you’, while others ‘lag behind’? Because you were passed by some many people, maybe you feel life is ‘passing you by’, and ‘leaving you behind’. And you always find yourself ‘playing catch-up’ with other people?

Maybe you feel you are always ‘running against the clock’? That time always seems to be ‘of the essence’. Or that you can’t find ‘enough time’ in your life to do everything you have to. Or are not able to find time to enjoy yourself , or find time to yourself.
