Default Can anyone help?

Hi,
I had something odd happen to me this morning and the same thing occurred about a year ago. Most mornings, I am the first one up and out while my husband is still sleeping but that is not to say he never gets up before me. Both times this has happened, he has gotten up early, showered, gotten ready for work and I am still asleep. At least, I think I am asleep. Basically, both times, I would have sworn I was awake, aware of my surroundings but with my eyes closed. The first time, I felt someone come in the room and stand beside the bed and then felt gentle fingers going through my hair. This morning, I remember my husband kissing me goodbye and then moments later felt someone come in the room and sit on the bed. I remember being aware enough to think it was my husband but also remember being terrified of turning to look and see who it was. For some reason both times, I was terrified of seeing whomever's presence I felt in the room. I asked my husband if he came back into the room and he did not. This may seem strange, or insignificant but to me having it happen twice now leaves me with an odd feeling. Is there a name for this type of "dreaming"? Has anyone else expeienced anything similar?

Default Someone in room

This type of dream happens quite often. There are definite reasons for it. When your husband kissed you good-by you probably changed sleeping position, perhaps from sleeping on your side to sleeping on your back. It is the sleeping on ones back that causes these types of dreams. If you also had the intention of getting up soon after, that would add to the problem, since your subconscious has to create a dream to wake you. Actually the dream you describe is frightening you awake in a subtle way.
You have nothing to fear! It is your own mind playing a trick on you. :-)
Cheers Wolfjk
