Default I sided with a murderer!!

I was observing a house where a man had turned up to find his ex-wife with another man. The man and his ex had a baby together, the baby was also there. The man tied up the new partner in another room. Then I was in a street that looked very American (I'm from the UK), next to a car. People were saying that the man had killed the baby and the new partner. A few days later he had also killed his ex. The man had been arrested and found guilty of murder; I thought this was wrong as the man had become mentally ill as a result of being dumped. I was then walking in a winding road with funny blobs on the ground, thinking that if the man had had some proper support he wouldnÂ’t have murdered.

Could someone please interpret?

Default Empathy with murderer

Hi Anteater,
Dreams are often created round some stories that happen and are in the news.

I don't know when you had this dream, but recently there were news stories in the UK that your subconscious could have used as the basis of your dream. One of the cases involved a UK citizen committing the crime in the US.
Many dreams are for diversion, and ultimetly to wake the sleeper. Perhaps you were over tired or feeling a bit down and needed a strong dream to jolt you awake.
Cheers Wolfjk

Hi wolfjk,

I dreamt this Tuesday night, and I think you're right about it being based around a news story, as there was someting in the news about a man killing his baby to spite his ex-wife.

I have been tired lately, due to lots of schoolwork, so it could have been down to that.

Any ideas on why I would have taken the murderer's side in the dream? When I saw it on the news I was shocked and disgusted.

Thanks for your insight,

Anteater3

Default Siding with the bad guy

Most dreams have these contradictory elements. It is not easy to understand how dreams work, however the concept that in waking life you would not have sided with the murderer, but in the dream you did, contains an amount of mental energy that nudges you towards waking up.
It acts as a jolt to the system.
Cheers Wolfjk
