Cousin's Wife Died of a Blood Clot
I was staying at my parentsÂ’ house. We had finished celebrating Christmas the day before. It was very dark outside and I had gone downstairs to check the calendar because I wasnÂ’t sure when it was time for me to go back to work. I thought that I had only one more day of vacation left, but I found out that I had more than a week of vacation. Then I wandered into the kitchen to look for something to eat. Meanwhile my father had awakened and I could hear him getting ready to go to work even though he has been retired for many years. Next, I heard the phone ring and I was hesitant about picking up the receiver. When I did, it was my second cousin from Pittsburgh, I asked him how he was and he was distraught when he explained that his wife had just died due to a blood clot in her brain. I tried to tell him how sorry I was, but he wanted to speak with my father. I knocked on the bathroom door and told my dad that his cousin was on the phone. Then he began to gripe and ask what he wanted. I had covered the receiver and told him that he had just lost his wife due to the blood clot in her brain.
