Wife's Dream of Muddy Water

My wife related this dream to me today. We were traveling home, but got stuck because of flooded roadways. However, we drove through the flood waters and traveled north closer to our home. Then we got stuck because of muddy flood waters again. This time, though, we were not able to drive through it.
Any help or interpretations are always welcomed.

The dream suggests that your wife sees herself getting somewhere in life by seeking the protection of those opinions and beliefs she feels most comfortable with. (traveling home) Yet there is an obstruction to this goal (got stuck) because the course of action has been overly influenced by either emotion or spiritual thinking that has gone beyond it proper boundary. North on any map is “up”. Thus traveling north closer to home would imply going in a gaining direction when getting closer to living with your own personal beliefs. Getting stuck a second time would indicate that letting emotions or spiritual thinking that goes beyond its proper boundary become an obstacle is a negative and wrong idea – especially as these emotions or the spiritual thinking involved is very lacking in clarity. (muddy flood waters) It appears that the minds reasoning ability (the car being driven) is unable to overcome this unclear thinking.
