Hello, I'm new to Dream Central. I'm female and 69 years old.
In my dream I see a figure walking toward me and as it gets closer I see it is dressed in a man's business suit and the size of a grown man but it's face is that of an ape; the shape resembling that of a baboon in. It's eyes are more like that of a gorrillas and are very soulful (extreamly soft and caring. (almost sorrowful) I feel great empathy and connectiveness. We shake hands(as if a pact) Then we turn and leave but I look back and see its suit has been made so his spider-monkey like tail can hang out. I can't get this dream and the feelings that came with it out of my mind. Will someone tell me what they make of it??? |

Hi,
unfortunately a monkey is not a good symbol, it means a damned deceiver enemy and because , it was Gorrila or baboon there waill be a danger.A monkey is also a symbol for an illness that its side effects remain. In this case someone will show up his/her enmity. Please let me know if something happened in a month or so.If you help charities or homeless people the bad things of this dream will diminish. Good luck. |

Hi,
here I have to disagree with Varzandeh, because of the dream context. I think that the "ape" as a dream symbol may represent an instinctual, still "animal" side. Generally, C.G. Jung had discovered that women can have a male figure appearing in their dreams which he called the "Animus", and men have a female figure appearing often in their dreams he called the Anima. It would seem that you are meeting up with this inner masculine aspect of your psyche (every person has a contrasexual non-ego aspect in one“s psyche). While he shows signs of outer adaption, the "buissness suit", he has remained on an instinctual level to a good extend. His eyes express that he seems to be a deep feeler, and you make contact with this part of your psyche here. I think the main point of the dream maybe that you get informed that there is such a part of your psyche with which you can make contact. If you want, you can read up on the internet about "Animus". Good luck Hermes |

Both takes on this dream are interesting. I am big on animal rights and am always signing petitions to try and better the poor animals sad plight.
I was thinking it could have something to do with that. But why it would take that form I don't know. However, the whole gorilla thing, which has been so publicized since the Jane Goodall tragedy, is haunting in itself. Hermes, I was happy to learn something new (animus) I had never heard of it. I appreciate the time and thought from both of you. Thank you |

Hi Wings
well dreams can be caused by many things. Often we will get a dream like this because someones behavior has stuck in ou minds. Try to answer these two questions 1. The eyes of the gorilla where sorrowful - who eyes in real life do they remind you of? 2. The business suit symbolises a serious attitude towards something. What things did you take very seriously the day before? whose attitude was very business like? Its likely that this dream was triggered by someones behavior or maybe athe type of behavior you would like someone to hold. That they should in a way act seriously yet also show comparssion. Was there any bureaucracies that you came into ontact with the day before the dream Only you can spot the specific connection. But meanwhile try to establish just a link with real life. -------------------------------------- Many dream dictionaries have just one meaning in them. This is a somewhat simplistic approach. My own dream dictionary helps to explore the various meanings of dream symbols. The various symbolic meanings are drawn from a bank of real dreams and so therefor as reliable as can be hoped for. Each page contains examples fo the real life emotions that such symbols link to in practice. http://www.geocities.com/hairybobby2000/dreamessay.html THE DREAM DICTIONARY |
