I was at my Mom and DadÂ’s and was looking inside an old building. I found a hammer and something that looked like a metal cylinder. I knew though that if I struck the cylinder with the hammer that I would cause a nuclear war. Then I was instructed to hit the cylinder with the hammer so I did. Afterwards, I walked outside and noticed that the clouds were huge, weirdly illuminated, and traveling south at a very rapid rate. I knew that my country would be getting hit so we stayed put, thinking that death would come quickly. However, it got very hot but nobody died. I went into their bathroom and noticed that the porcelain finish on the commode had bubbled, but that was all the damage there was. We were going to go check on relatives, but the doorknobs were too hot to touch and it looked so weird outside even though nothing was destroyed.
During the second dream, I was teaching at my present school. Everything in my classroom was going very well and I was reviewing a section that we had covered in social studies. The class finished and I was going to let them play games, but the dismissal bell rang. I remember saying goodbye to everyone and to have a pleasant evening. Any help or interpretations are always welcomed. Smitty |

Hello Smitty,
I was at my Mom and Dad’s and was looking inside an old building. The "location" of the dream is your parent´s "house". Psychologically, this could represent a part of your personality which is connected with them, the ideas and assumptions you have overtaken from your parents perhaps. The "old building" could represent an old personality structure and idea which you are exploring/revisiting. I found a hammer and something that looked like a metal cylinder. The "hammer" as a dream symbol here could represent something with which to use force. If one "hammers" something, strong force is used. On a certain level, the "hammer" and "cylinder" could also have the meaning of penis and vagina. Sorry if I sound Freudian here, it just remembered me on this. "To hammer someone" can also be a colloquial expression for forceful sex. I knew though that if I struck the cylinder with the hammer that I would cause a nuclear war. A "nuclear war" in dreams nowadays often is used as discribing a process in which much (psychic) energy is set free at a moment. It makes a big "boom!" and huge masses of psychic energy are set free. In combination with the other symbols, "using the hammer on the cylinder" could be related to violating a taboo behind which much energy had been built up. Then I was instructed to hit the cylinder with the hammer so I did. Here you actually do set free the energy behind the psychic complex. Afterwards, I walked outside and noticed that the clouds were huge, weirdly illuminated, and traveling south at a very rapid rate. The "coulds" could represent emotional turmoil. What are your associations with "south"? I personally would associate feelings with it, and when the "travel south" this could mean that the turmoil is gonna be happening in the emotional sector. I knew that my country would be getting hit so we stayed put, thinking that death would come quickly. However, it got very hot but nobody died. The "heat" in the dream could represent the energy which has been set free. That nobody "dies" could mean that no part of your personality actually needs to be sacrificed or transformed. I went into their bathroom and noticed that the porcelain finish on the commode had bubbled, but that was all the damage there was. What are your associations with the "procelain finish"? I would assume it is something very fragile and could have a particular meaning, and THIS is the only thing which is broken "when the hammer hits the cylinder". We were going to go check on relatives, but the doorknobs were too hot to touch and it looked so weird outside even though nothing was destroyed It would seem that once the action with the "hammer" has been commited, the world looks changed. It also would seem that the contact to other people by this is severed for some time, "the doorknob is too hot". Perhaps you were not insulted, but someone else, and the situation is too "hot" to actually go over to the other person (perhaps your parents?) and speak with them about it. Does this make sense? The overall impression I get from this dream is that a kind of taboo is touched which could have to do with your parent´s value system you partially may have taken over, and now the energy behind is released and there is a period of (psychological) turmoil. Does this make sense? Good luck Hermes |

Hi Varzandeh & Hermes,
Thanks to both of you for your interpretations. Hermes, I thought about an issue that was "too hot to handle or discuss" so much of what you had written does make sense to me. Varzandeh, are these men in my family or maybe men that I work with? Thanks Again, Smitty |
