This is a bizzare dream I had yesterday. I still keep thinking about it.
My dad dragged me to France to find his father, who ran off for drinking and women in Paris. Somehow I became seperated from him, and for all intensive purposes, alone and totally abandoned. I couldn't go home because I didn't have my passport. I barely know any French, and I was trying to tell a group of Parisan women I didn't have a home. I said, very distinctly, "Je suis non la maison." Roughly, and emphasis on rough, means "I am not the house.". They didn't seem to mine that I couldn't speak clearly to them. Every time they spoke, it sounded backwards, or like digitally filtered jibberish. They were very kind, and gave me a place to stay in exchange for being ever vigilant over the kitchen. It was like a kitchen out of a story book, with red brick and a perpetually bubbling vat of stew. if this puts it into any context, I struggled with French in high school and failed it once in college. My father's father died when I was four and I recently found out how awful he was (an alcholic and abusive). Thanks everyone ![]() |

Being trapped in Paris without a passport could indicate that you're feeling cut off from home. Finding some help from the Parisian women might imply that you're finding your way in this new environment.

Well during waking and hours and sleep the mind invents little stories which in some way relate to real life. Perhaps here you are exploring some thoughts connected with your father. Acting out how things could have been.
Maybe the dream captures peoples reaction to your thoughts about your father. Most dreams do not really help you... they simply are the way the mind explores ideas and thoughts. -------------- My Dream Guide http://www.dreamsymbolism.info |

The dream can be suggesting that you could see yourself being dragged into a way of living which your ancestral pattern of thought considered to be ‘a find’(dad dragged me to France to find his father ), that is, one that could be treasured or valued. Here what may be the find is a way of thinking that gives priority to the idea of ‘wine, women and song’. (his father ran off for drinking and women in Paris)
When you feel there is something to be said for a feeling you have, one that relates to the Parisian way of wine and women, you are actually speaking in foreign concepts. (speaking to Parisian women in French)[This could be so because you are not personally ‘at home’ here.] "Je suis non la maison" or “I am not the house” is an interesting statement and brings up a few ideas here. Psychologically speaking, the house refers to the mind and your ability to think. This could imply that what you have said is that you not a mind that thinks. [This might be so if you follow a self destructive way of thinking such as that of the father and grandfather.] As the setting in the dream is France, it brings to mind that famous quotation of the philosopher Descartes, “I think therefore I am”. This could be reversed in this case to mean I am whatever I think I am or perhaps think about. While a feeling relating to wine and women does speak to you or addresses your needs, the words that speak to you come out backwards. This is usually the sign of words or concepts that are being used to serve Satan. While this concept of wine and women seems to do well by you (They were very kind, and gave me a place to stay) there is something required of you in exchange. You can expect to remain using a point of view pertaining to making plans for future satisfaction in which you might be perpetually ‘in a stew’ – in a state of agitation resulting from active worry. The story book-like kitchen and bubbling vat also brings to mind Macbeth’s witches and their boiling cauldron. This could possibly suggest that a feeling that encourages wine and women and living in a stew is one that could be bewitching you if you are ‘not the house’; not a thinking man. |

That's a fairly sinister (but definately food for thought) interpretation Eliz; you gave me a lot to think about! Thank you.
