I recently had a dream where I was at a lake or water area. I was drowing in my dream and I could see people on the shore but couldnt see their faces to know who they were. No one knew how to help me while I was drowning. I woke up from the dream choking almost like I was really choking in real life.
I have been thinking it might mean that I feel like I am "drowning" in my real life and that was the meaning of my dream. But after thinking about that for a while I am not necessarily unhappy with my life and what I am doing. I was just wondering if someone knew of what something else this dream could resemble. Thanks for your help! |

Hello free2be,
Invariably, drowning is frequently how our unconscious mind projects the feeling of being mentally or emotionally overwhelmed. In what have you recently immersed yourself so much that you are beginning to feel you may have gotten in over your head? It could be that this dream suggests a sense of inadequacy in your ability to maintain some mentally or emotionally demanding effort. I hope this helps.

It is possible that your dream means what you and DrmDoc think, However it was more likely a response to what was happening in your sleep; a coughing fit, asthma attack, or an acid reflux could have caused the dream. In these cases you have to be woken very quickly. Sleep apnea has a similar effect as the sleeper stops breathing and gasps for air for a few seconds. Cheers Wolfjk

Hi,
If one dreamt he was drowned in the sea and died means there is a danger by the governor. If dreamt he was drowned in the water and was up again means he will give up the material affairs and will be busy for the spirituals.****** Choking means some good money is on the way. If dreamt his property or his livestock was drowned means he will stuck up in an affair but will rescue at last. Being drowned may also mean :1- plenty of money 2- a fortune 3- sitting with bad moral people 4- benefit.

Well your interpretation is exactly the way I would have interpreted it. But just try not to look at extremes. OK you are not struggling or not coping. But all things are relative. Dreams deal with you feeling a little bit more ... maybe a little bit more as if you are not coping.
But the faces that you cannot make out make this more difficult to interpret. Its almost as if you are saying to yourself... something like this "I want to seem confident. Yet I am not sure who I have to impress." Its not easy to interpret dreams. But many are very much in the here and now. They are very abstract by nature and a dream can be triggered by ever so many things... just watching something on tv ---------------------- Try My Dream Guide http://www.dreamsymbolism.info |
