Weird Dream =O.

Ok, I haven't remembered dreams in years, literally. I used to when i was younger, but, not now. Recently, I've had a few dreams that I remember, this one was in amazing detail, i couldn't believe it.

The Dream

Weirdest dream i've ever had... Ok, this is how it started: Me and my brother (wasn't my real brother, just, in the dream it was), where standing there, and my father (again, not my real father, didn't even look like him), was standing there. I have no clue what the time-era was, it was before cars, making horses the main form of transportation, that's all I know. My father presented us with two horses, and the option of going down two different roads. If we took the horse on the right, we had to go down the road on the right. If we took the horse on the left, we had to go down the road on the left. The horse on the right looked more healthy, and the saddle was newer, and better looking, but, for some reason, we knew not to go to the right, (I have no clue why not, but we knew not to), so we jumped on the horse on the left, this really pissed my dad off, he wanted us to go right for some reason, and told us that we where gonna die, and that he hopes we do, and that we soon would. So we left, no clue where our goal was. We where moving really fast through a realllly thick wooded area, and all the sudden, the ground had given out, there we where falling from 300 feet, but instead of just going down, it pulled us out, just as much, as if gravity wasn't as strong or something (lol). Below us was a very shallow river, 3 inches to 2 feet in some spots. There was also pine trees growing out of the river. We managed to grab onto pine trees and make our way down (un-realistic, I know, It's a dream), as we where sitting there catching our breath, our father saw that we where alive, and starting throwing rocks a us (lol). Then, as if he didn't feel pain, or was immune to death, jumped down from where we fell, and landed as if it was nothing, and started chasing after us. Seeing that we wouldn't be able to hurt him, we tried to run as fast as we could, then something shot him from in the woods with a bow and arrow, and it hurt him, which was weird, because he just survived a 300 foot fall, but an arrow injured him, and we got away.

My interpretation

This was about when I woke up, there where other details but i didn't wanna make a novel out of dream (lol).


When I woke up, my brain paired the dad in the dream, to a demon, and the person who saved us, as an angel sent from God.

About 1/2 year ago I made the decision to stay sober, and lately I've been tempted. I feel like the two decisions represented the two roads. The road to the right, was drugs, the road to the left, was being sober, and the demon was trying to deceive me with a "nicer horse", and God was telling me to take the road to the left. Then eventually the demon being defeated by an angel.

I wanna know what you guys think about my dream, if you think my interpretation, or conclusion is stupid, I wanna hear what you think a better one would be.

I think you have a good interpretation of the dream.
The two horses and two roads definately suggests a choice is at hand. The horse on the right, the nicer looking one with the newer saddle, suggests the choice of relapse, which at the time would seem much better/more fun/more tempting. The horse on the left is the dull choice it seems, to stick with your decision to stay sober. The dad figure could be anyone/anything trying to cajole you into the wrong decision (old friends/advertisements/whatever) by telling you it is indeed the right decision and you will die if you make the other choice.
When the road gives out and you fall, your dream could be suggesting that you will feel as if you have 'hit rock bottom' or made the wrong decision because it will only get harder before it gets easier.
Your dad getting shot suggests that in the end it was the right choice, and there are people and forces out there that are rooting for you.
