Dreams of Wolves

Can somebody help me interpret this dream. I'm not making it up. In fact, my gut told me it was about wolves, but I doubted since where it took place lives many coyotes.

Anyways, I just googled some images and it clearly was 3 wolves.

So, I was riding a horse by a field near my home back in Maine (which I've never done before). Something about horses has always interested me, but I've never ridden one.

I looked ahead and saw a grey and white (more white than grey) wolf. It was not far from a brown and white cat, so I thought I would inch my way over by it to protect the cat, even though my gut told me in the dream that the cat would probably not be there if it were in danger. So, the wolf disappeared into the brush only to come right out behind my horse and run right along side of me. He or she did not even look up at me, so clearly it was not afraid of me. It went over by the edge of the field where the cat was and sat not too far from it. It began to stare at the cat in way that I could not tell whether it was about to eat it, or play with it. So I stroled on by with my horse and made a loud noise to scare the wolf. He was just that and ran about 50 feet away while whining at me. I then realized perhaps I overreacted. Sure enough, the cat went walking towards the Wolf and roled on its side in a playful manner as if to tell me, "I can take care of myself."

Anyways, it was around this time that another Wolf (almost a dark grey) appeared and was very much coming towards me. At this point, I was off my horse for some reason and was half in fear half very interested in petting the Wolf. Well, he or she must have sensed my fear because it got close but then just ran over to the other Wolf and cat. At this time another cat seemed to be in the picture as well.

So I began to realize everything was fine, and sort of wandered off in the field. I turned around and thought I saw the original Wolf and cat playing when all of the sudden an all black wolf was running towards me from another direction. He came up to me, I let him sniff my hand, and I petted him. He then turned in a very playful manner and ran off. Something about it felt GREAT. (I believe there may have even been a 3rd cat in the picture at this point, but not really sure about that) My focus was the amazingly beautiful black wolf which had just approached me.

So.... at the end of this field is a nice Hotel (Inn By the Sea... in Cape Elizabeth, ME) which is separated from the field by its tennis Courts. When I got to that area I realized there were 5-10 people standing and sitting there as spectators. Some were intrigued, some were concerned. I told them everything was fine and the cats and wolves were playing. One man who seemed to be holding his cat with fear looked at me as though I were crazy. Others seemed to be smiling at the thought.

The dream basically ended there, although, I did realize I forgot my horse....when I looked back, I saw maybe 6 or 7 other wild horses in the field and figured maybe it was time to let that horse go.

I don't know. Funny dream. It sure felt cool.
