eating is about the thought process. it's like metaphoric and stuff. it's about seeing the practical effects of an idea. not just theorizing. this is how it would directly relate to you.

cars are probably about jobs, goals, directional stuff.

Cars are also called autos. Sometimes, to me, they mean doing something automatically, or like an automaton. Here, you are taking them in like food. What do you take in that is presented like it's automatic, programmed somehow? And when you take it in, do you believe it? Do you "swallow" it, in slang terms? Maybe you need good fresh ideas, not things that are presented automatically.
