So many toilets, so little time!

So I have recently become interested in my dreams and have been making a conscious effort to remember them. I've been doing pretty well too. I have a few little questions then one about a dream I had.

A couple things that I find to reoccur is my car. My car is the love of my life and was recently renderd undrivable due to a collision. In most my recent dreams, I am driving it with the damages and all, no front headlight, squished hood, leaking radiator. Its really bizzar.

The other thing I take notice in is a lot is marijuana. Large quantities too. I've smoked pot for years but its never manifested itself into my dreams before, or not that I can remember. I'm never smoking it though, its just there, in my hand or in plain sight.

Now this dream I had the other night is bugging me. I'm not sure if the fashion in which I went to sleep has any effect or relevance but I had passed out after a few too many drinks. I was dreaming for a very long time that I was cleaning toilets. These toilets were nasty, covered in brown and green scum with some white flecked about. The toilets were in stalls, real small ones and the walls were just as gross. Have you ever played a video game where there is a toilet covered in scum? Well that's what it looked like, not actual feces or whatever, just scum. And the whole ttime I could hear my friends, don't know if they were talking to me, don't know what they were saying and I don't know if I ever responded. It was just hours of cleaning dream toilets, how obnoxious!

A big amount of drugs mean a big money.

Toilet means thinking too much to increase money and not to spend any.

Feces means money birds and animal feces means moral money and human feces means money but immoral.

Well each symbol does have a meaning. But really its often difficult to see just how a dream links to reality. The dream clearly has a meaning but it can work in several ways. Dreams often do not make it obvious which way a dream symbol can be interpreted.

Cleaning toilets to me could symbolise cleaning up emotional problems. You are right - your state the night before is important. Maybe taking drugs helps you to relax and concentrate on certain key problems.

But the dream also suggests boredom - its a task we would rather not do. Its a little demeaning as well. Maybe thats the meaning of the symbols.

Thats the difficulty we face with dreams - they tap into our minds in ways we do not fully understand. Thats what makes it so fascinating. Your dream maybe saying "I am cleaning up my problems" but might so easily say "This is laborious and humiliating"
