just a dream

i dreamed i was in bed. i sat up at some point. there were bugs on my comforter. little black scorpion ants. i wasnt too upset. then i slowly noticed this blob and i was wondering what it was, so i stared at it, focusing on it, it wasnt hiding, but it was hard for me to see. it kinda blended in with the comforter, but was a lighter color. light tan with little blue veins/streaks, still blob-like after much concentration. well, i got up after that. i kept looking and noticed another one, different color, all tan and brown i think. i decided they were poisonous, otherwise i was going to pick them up and dispose of them. i had grabbed something and squashed four of the scorpion ants.

suddenly i was more afraid. but still curious. so i was watching and watching them. there became more. but then daylight was coming, and they started crawling away. the all tan one grew a set of wheels to roll away on. i was annoyed because if they went away.. well.. they could creep back some night without me knowing it. i noticed some empty beer bottles on the floor. they were in the path of the bugs escape route towards the window.

well, my interpretation of this is that i was listening to national public radio at work. wasnt concentrating very hard on working, hence the beer bottles. and i found that radio station annoying. all these people and their worthless opinions. yet i listened to it like all day. which would correspond to my staring at the bugs for a long time.

Well at first glance it sounds like quite a trivial thing to have a dream about. Yet things like this can get stuck in our minds and on that day that may have been something important....

Its strange what can be important on any one given day ... we constantly monitor what we do... sometimes we will focus in on somnething

on days when nothing big happens its difficult to know what causes a dream... but actually this is quite important in its own way.... asking yourself... Why do I listen to this rubbish... its good to spend your time on something thats important

hey unclesir,

yeah i seem to be focused on work a lot, i think that is often what my dreams are about because i've been working on a big important task and i guess that day i was a bit worn out from it all and slacking off. it seems like when i do work really hard i have fast paced dreams involving shiny cars though.

actually figured this out using your site, because i didnt know what beer represented, and you said it was about taking a relaxed attitude. it made sense after that.
