Shared dream from childhood

I used to have a nightmare when I was 7 or 8. I told a friend about it (whom I only met 6 years ago) who was shocked at my dream because I was describing his childhood nightmare. I would dream that I was in room filled with compartments. I had to fill each compartment with a huge silver ball. As soon as I would get almost done, something would come by and knock all the silver balls out of their compartments and I would have to start all over again. It was a terrifying dream to me at the time.

I'm wondering if there is any symbolism in two people, who did not know each other at the time, having the same nightmare.
