465 Stories - Going Up In the Elevator

Hello, I had a dream this morning, and I wanted to share it.

Part One: I was going up in the elevator, and I got out on a floor of which I believed was floor 465. I remember going into an office with two people I knew, but I don't remember doing anything else in it. Then my dream switches me back to the elevator, and I get in, but then somehow end up on top of the elevator shaft. I then think that the elevator is going to go to the top and crush me. I somehow open the doors to a floor, and get out.

Part Two: The next section of my dream takes place close to the ground floor level. I am with someone, and they are driving their truck inside this building. They are trying to manuever it within the level to go down the escalator to go to the lobby. (This is the second time this week that I have drempt about a truck trying to move within a confined building.) The truck then goes down this huge escalator. I walk down the stairs next to it. I also have a purse on my shoulder in which I have a dog in it (a small one, like my own pomeranian.) On this level is a large decorative fountain with clear blue water shooting up water, and the level looks a lot like the inside of a fancy hotel.

Anyway, there it is. I woke up at the end it there. I greatly appreciate any insite anyone may have.

Hi Jac,

A buiilding with more floors than there are days in a year is a very high building! Here you feel if you go all the way to the top on this elevator, you will be crushed. In what way, in your waking life, are you getting too high for your own comfort?

Trucks often relate to work, as trucks are generally work vehicles. Can you describe the actual truck, what kind it was? It's maneuvering in what you call a "confined" building... is something about your own workplace making you feel too confined?

I have a Pomeranian too... she's a bit bigger than they're supposed to be though, so no purse for her! She weighs about twelve pounds. But it is nice to be able to pick them up and tote them around, for sure.

The fountain, and bringing your dog with you seem to give me a sense of cleansing and freedom in being about to escape this building. I'm left wondering if there's a job situation that you feel rather crushed and oppressed by, or an offer of a higher position that you feel would be too much for you? Something like that? If so, it seems to me that you value your freedom more, just want to leave, along with your dog!

Maybe in this job you've been "working like a dog" for too long already, and just don't want to take on more, even if there is a promotion being offered.

I could be totally off base, but that's the only sense I can make of it!

Thank you for your thoughts.

About going too high...I do not believe going up in the building was to show about going too "high," but rather going high too "fast." My life is a long story, but in short, after 40 years, I am back at school full time, and working part time in a so-called "temp" position for a company. I believe that this company really likes me, and may want me full time. As such, an opportunity for full time would cloud my current direction, inasmuch as changing my throughts about re-enrolling full time for school in the Fall 09. I am afraid that I will choose work over school, especially since the money is good.

In any event, this scenario is not "real" at this point, so I am not even sure I will be faced with it.

Also, you asked about the truck. The truck was more like a SUV type vehicle. In my last dream, the truck was inside a room, and unable to drive out because of the walls restricting it's movement. In this dream, it was a bit tight in the beginning of the truck's movement, but then once it was able to move around a couple of walls, it was free to go down the huge "escalator." I seem to dream about vehicles manuevering in tight spots for some reason.

Varzandeh, thank you for your entry regarding the number 5.

I wanted to mention something to you. Two months ago, I drempt of similar numbers. My sister and I went to buy a car. It had a price tag. I remember the regular price was $65,000 (but the 000 could have been other numbers; dream is too fuzzy.) The sale price was about $43,000 (I remember the 4 in the number very well, but the 000 of this number is fuzzy also.) Both of these numbers were written on a large price tag.

After giving it more thought today, I found it interesting because the individual numbers of 4, 6, and 5 were in both dreams. Could this have any meaning?
