Heavy Rains

It had been raining heavy and steadily all day. There had been so much rain that a muddy creek that had formed and risen in my front yard where there had been none before. Then I noticed that the concrete in my garagae was getting damp which made fearful that my basement was probably taking on water. I looked out the front door again and the creek was muddier and still rising and the water was flowing faster. This made me wish that the rain would stop. I wanted to go downstairs to check out my basement, but I couldn't get myself to go down there.
