Default Terrified...

Hello all,

I am kraggy, and unfortionatly I suffer from Hypochondria...Which gives me Fears of Disease, In my case this disease is Cancer, Everything I feel & notice has to do with cancer. I have had a blood test done by my doctor and he said it was fine. I have swollen Lymph Glands on a few places which are the main cause of my Hypochondria it seems. (It started when I first felt these) The doctor says I'm fine (even though in my opinion I have not had any real good testing done other then the blood research..)

Last night I had a dream, A dream about a meteor heading to earth, The change was extremely large that it would miss. But it was clearly visible in the sky during day.
At one point the dream suddently changed, And I was heading to the cinema with a load of friends, I recall ordering a large coke & a whole box of M & M's, But did not get the taste I wanted because the guy selling the stuff was clumsy.

In the cinema my friends were noisy which ofcourse pissed people off and I was ashamed...For the rest I cannot really remember alot...

When I went to search on the internet about the meteor part I got to this forum, and it said that meteors meen a comming traumatic event, Which will affect my social life and such...Ofcourse this fueled the fire of my fear, and I am currently very afraid that this dream means that in the next few days I will get to hear that my worst fears are true, and that I have cancer...

Does anyone happen to know if I shouldbe worrying alot about this? Or should I see it as "Just a dream, do not worry so much"?

Kind regards, and hope to hear from people soon...

Kraggy

Hi Kraggy,
If you are looking at the sky it means that you are lying on your back and looking at ceiling! It makes you ill when you go to sleep on your back because it is hard tbreathe in this position. Your subconscious created the meteor dream to wake you up. dreams don't predict anything! They deal with what is happening to you in the sleep. Once you wake up, you can forget about the!
Now about your "Hypocondria"; you have to stop imagining there is something wrong with you, or you might get this or that desease! Thinking about it gets you depressed and that is even worse! Go out and enjoy yoursel like a normal 15 year old would! Be happy!
Cheers Wolfjk

hrmsh, I see. Thats quite a bit of Reassurance. When I read about what Meteors meen I sortoff lost myself for a second. Especially since I seem to have dreams involving meteors quite a bit xP

As for my Hypochondria, I know that I need to stop imagining it, but its really hard once you know all the symptons. ^^ None the less for the past week or so it has been going pretty good with it, The first few month's were literally frightening full time though, Luckely I seem to be able to cope with it far better now.
Forums where I can find into about my fear are a huge help in this to, So when I get scared because I notice something, I go to a forum about the subject and ask for information, 9/10 times they explain my that it is nothing to worry about.

Thank you for calming me down, Wolfjk.

Kind Regards,

Kraggy

fears can be symbolic too. why don't you think about what cancer represents. everyone loses something with cancer. there is growing negativity it escalates and then the person is gone. they suffer, everyone suffers.

think about when you first started worrying about cancer. what was going on, how was the atmosphere at home?

it might not help to know why you're afraid of things.. you might like being in a state of perpetual fear.

Hrmsh...well I have allways been an overly happy person...I dont recall there beeing any negativity when I started to have the fear...I just made a big mistake and that was look up on the internet what symptons are and noticed I had some, since then my fears started..

Do I like beeing in a state of fear? I doubt it...Although I do admit that when I have a "Nightmare"I wake up wanting to go back to sleep and seeing how it ends >.<

Wink hi

no worries, if there was a huge meteor heading to earth, the military would shoot it down just like the satellite that was shot down because it was out of control and heading to hit anywhere on earth. Anyway, about the first comment you got, with sleeping on your back and that making you sick, well I have been sleeping on my back and I have a cold now. Maybe this is why I've been having strange nightmares from lack of oxygen sleeping on my back.

oh. well in that case it is 'just a dream'. stress and dreams go together. you're playing this disaster over and over in your mind, and so the dream plays it for you also.

theres nothing wrong with worrying about your health. it's part of your personality, you'll probably handle it better over time if you're 15 like wolfjk says (though you typed in 20 on your website info). teenage angst comes to an end though and people start to mellow out at around 20. maybe give it a few extra years in your case.

I am indeed 20, Just turned it ^^

I have been mellow pretty much all my life, never really had any health anxiety's. I've allways been the type that went "I'm fine, No disease will be keeping me down!" when people would ask me how I was. My Anxiety started about 2 month's ago when I learned more about Lymph Nodes, Which followed by frequest self-checkup & diagnosis. Which in the end led me to fear.

As for the dream, well I must admit that I am very interested in meteors, other planets, space & all of that stuff. I am also well known about the whole 21/12/2012 stuff. As for sleeping on my back..hrmsh, dont think so ^^ I allways fall asleep on my side, and I usually seem to wake up in exactly the same position. Which makes me belive I am a very peacefull sleeper ^^

None the less I do dream alot, and I tend to be afraid that I can "Predict" things since I started having Anxiety's...

For instance..

A few weeks ago I had a weard dream, about work. We were closing down and I left through the backdoor, when I noticed I left a bag inside so I immedietly ran to the front door which they were just closing. Unfortionatly I could not get in anymore to get the bag.

Now, last week I was at work. And at the end of day I noticed that I lost my keys (Probably outside) Ofcourse I ran to the front door, But since we were closing down they would not let me out through the front door and let me search the area..

Naturally I coupled these events together, creating a bit of fear, Which exploded into panic when I read..

Dream dictionary symbol - meteors and asteroids in dreams analysis

(I hope its allowed to post links here, If not my apologies)

Kind Regards,

and thanks again.

Kraggy.

even while i agree with the meaning of meteors it doesnt follow that it has to predict anything, even your dream suggested it was a chance that either would or would not happen, so it seems more about your current thought process being played out.

i suppose that was even a rational sounding dream for a person who is supposedly on the verge of a nervous breakdown. and you connected it up pretty well, you should be a dream interpreter.

if this dream was going to have a conclusion, then it would happen after someone convinced you one way or the other about your health. like if you really believed 100% you had cancer because you got a diagnosis then the meteor might actually crash into the earth in a new dream. but if you were to be convinced that you didnt then you might not dream of it again or maybe you'd dream about staircases or glass walls, coming to some good conclusion or shutting the bad ideas out of your mind.

Too young for such a serious dream, at least with the meaning of ending life as we know it. Unless you have this dream again, chalk it up to a bad meal.
